Does the Job Well
I thought about just getting a roll of foam/sponge weather stripping as some have suggested. But this material is much softer than weather stripping, so I would suggest using this item as opposed to weather stripping. This item is made for what it's used for and has substantial sticky-ness on one side so it stays where you put it. It is 1/8 inch thick and easily cut to size. I would expect using this item would reduce a hat by at least 1/4 of an inch if you used it all the way around the hat. It works, you can't tell it's in the hat as it is soft and comfortable; however it will make you hat "snug up" to where you want it to be. As you wear it, the material forms to your head to where it wears just like a hat should. It's wide enough that it won't leave a mark on you forehead. It works well, it is easy to use, and it will save you having to return a hat and ordering the next size down, which may not fit you either! I recommend it.

perfect size for adjusting fit
The backing is a little tricky to get off - I first thought I had to pull a layer off the paper but instead all of the paper peels away from the foam. The size is right and this is identical to the Ultrafino sizer I've used in the past. Yes, it's just foam tape, but it's not gigantic size for doors and windows. I'd spend almost as much in fuel if I were to go to the hardware store and try to buy similar foam tape.

Works perfectly for my head.
My head is right between an XL and XXL hat size. I have tried thicker bits of foam, and they were too much. This is thinner, and works perfectly for me. Some complain about the price for a little bit of foam. Hey, it is ample to do one hat, and someone got that problem solver from a long ways away to my front door for just a few bucks. If you prefer to go to Home Depot to get a roll of something, sure, but that is time and money, too, and I do not need 25 feet of this stuff.

When in need ....
When your head and hat are not the same size, these little helpers come in very handy. To adjust the size of your hat, just place these between the inside of the hat and the sweat band. Instead of going through the hassle of returning a hat that is just a little too big for your head, you can now resize that hat to fit. I would recommend these to anyone needing a quick fix in resizing their hat and not wanting to go through the process of returning that hat and waiting for one in their size to be shipped back.

Perfect quick fix
I have a really small head, but sadly, I am a fan of hats. I have a pair of hats that I really love and are not adjustable (like a baseball cap would be). One of the hats was huge on me, so I stuck the foam around the entire piece, to the actual hat, and then covered it up with the sweatband. The other hat I cut a couple 2" pieces off and stuck those spaced around the inside, and it worked great. It's been a couple weeks now, and no sign of the tape coming off. Because I stuck it directly on the hat, the foam doesn't wick up any sweat either (ie it won't start to smell).

Pricey and too short
24" really isn't that much when you're trying to wrap it inside a hat. Considering the price, and that all you're getting is foam with a glue backing, there's no reason they shouldn't be giving you a lot more length. And the foam is quite soft, so really it only gives you a little bit more tightness, so it really won't work if your hat is so loose it's hitting your ears. It's really only good if your hat is just barely too big.

The inner band on one of my favorite fitted caps developed ripples and became uncomfortable to wear
The inner band on one of my favorite fitted caps developed ripples and became uncomfortable to wear. The sizing tape makes it not only feel much better, the fit has improved greatly. The cap is back in my regular rotation.

Seven weeks after putting it on my hat, the glue has completely disappeared and the foam doesn't stay in the hat band anymore.
======= UPDATE ========It's only been seven weeks since I bought this product, and it's already starting to come loose from the sweat band in the hat. The glue has completely let go and the foam just goes all over the place. It's not working well any more to keep my hat sized rightly...and I can't recommend a product that only works for less than two months._______________The sizing chart on the hat I recently bought was not very accurate. Putting some of this hat tape around the sweat band sized it right up and I no longer have to worry about losing my hat every time the wind blows. It's easy as pie to put on...just peel the white backing off and stick it to the hat side of the sweat band.
