Held By ransom ?
This issue has gone on from date of order until just a few days ago ? I placed several orders at the same time at amazon , well, it's the holiday's pluss my sons B-day was coming up ? Original order date was Nov.1st, I have been busy so I thought I saw a (backorder) on this item, figured it should be here at least by 12/7 in time for my sons B-day ? But on or around Nov. 29th -30th , Nothing ? So I called , the woman I spoke with "Kathleen" was very upset, not that I hadn't recieved my order, but that I gave a negative review on Amazon ? She told me it was mailed USPS and was confirmed delivered ? Well, I don't know about everyone else or everywhere else, but if I don't sign for it or it's not placed in my hand "it's not a confirmed delivery" ? I have had UPS, and USPS leave packages at my door and they have sat there all night into the next day ? So she made me feel as if she were calling me a lier ? The only way I could get my item was to agree to take the negative feedback I wrote off Amazon and replace it with a more positive one? Not only that I had to pay an extra [...] for expedited shipping and a sign for , that was never signed just handed to me ? While I waited for my item to arrive she must have called me 4 or five times asking if I had taken off the neg. feedback ? Then she let the cat out of the bag ? They are charged by Amazon for any negative feedback they recieve ( or so she sais ) ? So this company was all about the money folks, and "Kathleen" sorry I couldn't give you what you wanted, but it's buisneses like yours that give reputable ones a bad name! You should be more concerned wth your customers rather than your "Books" JoAnne

Included drivers won't work with Vista, Win7, but....
...Works perfectly with LINUX!!! (which is why I bought it). DOES work natively with XP. Kind of big by today's standards, but robust and well-constructed.Inexpensive legacy device that supports injection for all you Aircrackers. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE "V2" VERSION.Five stars for the product, dinged on modern windows compatability (there may be a solution - IDK).

buyer beware
The hardware we received is a netgear hardware but the installation CD was not an official installation CD. It was a generic CDR CD that looked to be homeade. The installation CD did not work for us and the seller would not accept a return of the product.

Pleasantly surprised wth 5 bar signal
Just installed a new AT&T 2701HG-B modem router, in my sons room upstairs. Bought the D-Link DWA-125, for my PC downstairs, and the signal was weak. Returned it and got the DWA-160, and also got a weak signal. Read many reviews online and decided to try the Netgear WG111v2. I did not use the drivers on the CD in the package. I downloaded the WG111v2 Version 4.0.0 from the netgear website.Installed it, and chose Microsoft WLAN manager (Windows 7) to manager the connection, from the menu when starting it up. Complete shock, as it received a 5 bar (excellent) signal.I just received it today, so hopefully it continues this way.

Working as expected
It has done its job, range is not as great as my netbooks (dell half wifi card g). I do not recommend this if you are looking for a consistent connection, or getting wifi from another room, but for short temporary use its perfect. Also, if you are buying this for home security 'vulnerability testing'*cough*backtrack*cough*, look no further. Just don't expect this to serve as a replacement wifi connection card adapter.

Decent while it Lasted
This was a decent card when I was using it. However, it didn't last as long as I would have liked. I believe within 6 months or so, it began having signal issues and eventually became ineffective and needed to be replaced. That's not really very long for a good card. It gets 3 stars for being good while it lasted, but no more because it did not last as long as it should have.Netgear is typically a good brand though, and I would consider getting a newer model product.

Hmmmm
I could never make this product work properly but it probably more a matter of operator error than a problem with the product. Nevertheless, due to my experience I have given it a 2 star rating.
