TurboTax Deluxe 2016 Tax Software Federal No State + Fed Efile PC/MAC Disc [Amazon Exclusive]

I purchased TurboTax Deluxe [No State] last week and I have verified that Schedules C and D are included in this Deluxe version, just like they were last year (although, as usual, they seem to be not yet the final versions from the IRS). I am very pleased to see that Intuit is continuing to include these forms in the Deluxe version and hope they will continue to do so for many years to come. Intuit, if you read this please do not repeat the fiasco of two years ago of trying to remove these forms from the Deluxe version -- thank you. Also, I am very pleased that there is a "No State" version of Deluxe available for those of us that live in states without income tax (I live in Texas). It has always been $10 cheaper than the "With State" version and I hope that will continue as well. And I'm pleased that Amazon almost always puts TurboTax on sale this time of year (late Dec - early Jan).But every year there are a few customers who post 1-star reviews because they purchased the wrong version -- they needed "With State" but they were not quite careful enough and accidentally purchased the "No State" version. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars right now is that I feel that Amazon should make it absolutely clear that this is the "No State" version. I suggest Amazon put "NO STATE" in big, bold, red letters right in the product title, for example, with the "[Amazon Exclusive]". Clearly the absence of the word "State" in the title is not adequate to avoid some customers purchasing the wrong version.Bottom line: TurboTax is still the best tax preparation software available, at an affordable price, and I hope it continues to be so for many years.[Jan 21, 2017] Adding to my review. I am very pleased to see that Intuit commented on my review and even more pleased to see that Amazon/Intuit took my suggestion and added "NO STATE" in the title. I still think a different color than the rest of the title would be even better (like red, or blue) but this is definitely better than it was. So, I'm now increasing from 4 to 5 stars!

Too bad that I can't give turbotax zero stars. I loaded it and after completing my federal return, I tried to download an Oklahoma state tax form and my only option is to have them fill out and submit the report...for $44.99. I have been using turbotax for 10 years and this is the first time that I have been required to have them fill out and file my Oklahoma state tax form. I did some checking and discovered that they gave everybody an opportunity to download one state tax form for free until March 16th. Apparently, they assumed that everybody using turbotax for 2016 would have installed it and used it prior to March 16th. Considering how long I have used turbotax, it would have been nice of them to send me an email notifying me of the change...but they didn't. There is no way in hell that I am going to pay $44.99 for them to complete and file my state return. On their support site, they have an option to request a call to speak with someone. I received a 'robo call' informing me that I should use their help site.....@#@#$#$%!!!!! I went to WalMart and bought H&R Premium Tax Software, which includes one free state form download. I will never purchase turbotax again!!!

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and have found it to be very good and easy to use. They only complaint I have had with TT is when they tried to take some of the tax forms out of the Deluxe Version and putting them in the Premium Version.. Thankfully, they realized people were going to use other software instead of buying the much more expensive Premium Version and they put the forms back in the Deluxe Version in the same year. While preparing my return TT keeps asking if I want to upgrade on certain forms which makes we wonder if I am getting the complete questions in regard to certain things. On the box there is a list of forms the Deluxe Version contains, so be sure and check that list before buying.This year I was happy to buy my TT without a state return included on Amazon. I live in Texas and do not need a state return so not having to pay more to get something I do not need was great. I hope they have the Turbo Tax Version without a State Return again next year.

Bought this and installed as we have for the last 7 years. However, this is the first year we e-filed. Completed everything, put bank info into the correct forms and e-filed. Got confirmation from TurboTax that the e-file was accepted. Got notice form the IRS that the taxes were not paid. It appears this works if you are getting a refund, but NOT if you owe and pay through e-file. The IRS does NOT get your bank information from people e-filing because the forms does not provide it on the forms transmitted by TurboTax when the IRS gets it. IRS confirmed this and said they are getting 4-5 calls per day about this. Got no satisfaction out of the cumbersome TurboTax contacts and wound up paying penalties and interest on late payment. Will be last time I e-file.

worked flawlessly as always. I have been using this product for about 10 years and it never disappoints. Step-by-step guide allows me to sail through the painful task of doing taxes. My taxes are not overly complicated but I do have investments, including rental properties, and a small business. Turbo Tax Deluxe allows me to complete everything within this version (there are several times it asks if I want to upgrade. I just click no and continue on). I am able to complete my taxes in roughly 2.5-3 hours from start to finish. Being able to import data from the previous year is also a huge time saver.
