My grandson is 12 and was asking for a western "cowboy" poncho for Christmas. He is fascinated with cowboys and the old west. This suited him just fine. It was a little big for a small 12 yr old but he wears it a lot, with plenty of room to grow. The material is thick and just what I expected. He was very happy with his gift.

This is a very nice poncho for the price. My 11 yr old wanted it for his birthday ( yea weird, I know) and it is feels high quality. Its rather big on him but he wears it all the time (even in the heat wave we are in) and its pretty heavy. It comes down about to his knees so hopefully he can wear it a long time. It is also pretty wide.

Well made and authentic. Needed it for a costume piece and this worked really well. Tag says it was made in Mexico. Stitching is done nicely and I can't find any bad seams on it. This particular color (Blue) is quite nice as well. Looking closely at the material...it seems that different types of stitching and different yarns where used to create the effect and patterns that the poncho has. The edges that surround the arms and open neck area are done well. It is a black strip that keeps the ends from fraying. It is important to note that this is a piece that is to be hand washed only. It is well made...but I feel a washing machine would probably eat this up and destroy some of the more intricate stitching work. It isn't the thickest material, but I think it could certainly block the wind and keep you warm when combined with other gear. I bought it for a costume piece but it looks so cool and is so well made that I will probably take it with me the next time we go camping. It would be perfect for that fall weather and colder evenings around the campfire. If your looking for a traditional Mexican poncho...you can't go wrong with these. Nice price and well made.

Ordered something like this when drunk but canceled order because I knew I'd push my wife over the edge. If you're into the grateful dead, or are a college student playing hippy, or think you're a gunslinger its a good inexpensive item. I'm old and crazy, so I got it to wear at night. Since my liver is shot I now wear it after taking a bunch of gummies. Like it. If you want to wear it more, get a real one made by craftspeople and buy once cry once. Id say good for a Mexican dude costume, but heaven forbid you have some fun drinking beer and eating tacos on may 5 or Halloween. I never gave a crap about people dressing a as leprechauns or whatever, and, 99 percent of sane Mexican people I know don't care, but I this era of iconoclasm and heresy, be very careful as you might offend some anglo girl who knows nothing of any culture other than shopping at a mall.
