Big Features on a Small Budget!
If you're looking for a simple, reliable landline phone that won't break the bank, this vibrant red VTech model is an absolute steal. The sound quality is surprisingly crystal clear, and the bright backlit screen makes seeing who’s calling super easy even from across the room. My only minor gripe is that the menu setup feels a bit retro and navigating through the saved call log can take a second to get used to. Overall, it’s an awesome, high-quality cordless phone that adds a fun pop of color to the counter while doing its job perfectly!

VOIP has given the home phone a new lease on life. Recommended.
Yes, I get it... you've got your cell phones, so why have a home phone? Well, if your Internet service comes with a VOIP line for free, then it's kind of a no-brainer (especially if you have spotty cell/4G service). When centrally located, this phone is able to cover an entire 5000+ sqft home, plus some of the outdoor grounds. Since it's digital the audio drops out, rather than turning static-y, when you hit the edges of your coverage. This phone is completely capable at all of the normal "phone" things. It does not, however, have some of the higher-end features that some more expensive phones have. For example, it can not act as a bluetooth handset extension of one or more cell phones. It's not multi-POTS capable. I doubt most would miss those features, and VTech clearly thinks so, too. The bases are keyhole mountable, if that appeals to you. If you are using this with a VOIP port, I would recommend putting your cable/DSL/fiber modem/mux, router (if it's not built in to your modem/mux), and phone base station on a small Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). AmazonBasics has 600VA ones that work fine for the purpose. If you're using a VOIP line, it will not work if any of the aforementioned components does not have power. While the provider's equipment upstream ALSO needs power, it is normal for each of their links to have some level of backup power. The VTech CS6719-2 is a decent phone at the price. Recommended.

GREAT VTECH PHONE! I have used VTECH for MANY years
EDIT: while still giving five stars, I've never had to use the locate handset button on the base, but decided to try it today. It only worked IF the handset was in the base! If it was out of the base, nothing. Now this isn't a big deal to me, and maybe it's just a fluke on mine, but for those who might need or want this, check that feature as soon as you get the phone. _______________________________________ My old Vtech that I have had for four years and also got on Amazon was still working, but they recommend changing the battery pack every one to two years if you use a lot. Well, I do use my phone a lot as I am at home most of the time. It didn't cost much more to get a new phone over the battery pack. So was still going after four years and I have paid 20 and change for my old one, this one, with tax (high tax in my state), was 23 and change. It took about 12 hours to fully charge before first use, which is expected. Maybe a little less or more, but it does take awhile. Love the sleek look! Has all the features I need and was surprised it even had aaa batteries in case power went out! We get a lot of thunderstorms here in the Midwest and power going out not uncommon. It even has a button on the side of the base to locate handset. Bottomline: Would get again and when I want or need another phone, it will again be Vtech.

For the most part, these were very good for the first 2 years.
Let me start by saying I've had these phones almost 3 years. I've kept them because the quality out-weighed the problem. This phone doesn't beep when you are receiving another call for call waiting or display the caller ID of the new caller. It will sometimes have a skip in hearing when another call is coming through, but not always. Even if you recognize the skip as another call, it won't show you the caller ID of the 2nd caller. Very frustrating. So I have to either tell my current person to hold while I switch to see who it is, or just ignore the 2nd caller. Usually it will have the 2nd callers info on the caller ID when I've hung up. Now for the past 6 months, if I'm using the speaker phone, it is very hard to hear (even with the volume turned on high) unless it is set just right on a surface, with the speaker sitting 'just so' or else it is very hard to hear. I had to buy new batteries (very specific for this phone) after the first 16 months, now twice, as they don't hold a charge now for long. It gets great reception even at long distances (outside the house at at least 50 ft, and is very easy to read the window and the numbers clearly, and the ring is plenty loud. The sound quality is still very good (much better than cell phones - I have both) which is why I prefer home phones for placing and receiving home calls. I have had this phone for almost 3 years. I've had the problem with the 'call waiting' caller ID since the beginning. I complained about that and they sent me new phones but they have had the same problem. So I just kept them because the sound quality was great and the batteries lasted a long time (then). The call waiting caller ID was basically the only problem I had. I've had V-tech cordless phones since the beginning of cordless phones. They used to last a long long time, and the quality has been great. I've always loved them. They just started failing a bit here and there with this set, and that makes me wonder if I should change companies. Instead, I've just ordered a new set of V-tech (will receive tomorrow!) and hopefully, fingers crossed, they will be worth buying again. Or else it's time to move on...

THE BEST CORDLESS EVER
I have finally found a cordless phone which meets all my requirements. In my 80 years, I have never praised an equipment. But this phone forced me to write about it. Fantastic, easy to install with more than required facilities for any user.
