Can't say I remember much about this
This was purchased for a college class. I found it to be boring and skimmed it in order to pass the class.

Superb Collection
Though it lacks some of the great Northern Irish dramatists, this collection concludes with the brilliant "Bog of Cats." Not only does the collection do a strong job of representing a wide variety of Irish dramatists, but it includes plays that are highly teachable within a Literature or theatre classroom. In the wake of Beckett, easily accessible Irish Drama is not always readily available. This collection makes accessibility possible.

Great Compilation, Good Value
This book is used for my 20th Century Irish Contemporary Literature class. This book consists of some great Irish plays pertaining to many of the struggles and themes that were prevalent to the Irish people a hundred years ago.I give this 4 stars because I payed $15 for a physical copy of a lot of plays that can be found for free if you have a Kindle (like I do). All of these works are now public domain and can be downloaded for free.Make sure you know which plays are in this compilation and if they are available for free before hand. Other than that- enjoy!

good collection in awkward binding
I knew I was getting a text book, and I am pleased to have this collection of plays and background material and criticism, but the binding is so tight I find the book, however narrow in shape, unwieldy to hold. Since others say most of these pieces are available online, who am I to complain? It is good to have the book despite its faults.

Recommend for survey of modern Irish literature
This book was required for my Irish Literature II course, and it was quite interesting. It included a multitude of Irish plays, stories and poems. The book was very easy to navigate and it wasn't too large at all to carry around. However, this book is available for free downloads, so it may be redundant to purchase it. I only did because I like the tangibility of books, and get eye fatigue if I read something for too long.I recommend it overall, because it is a great survey of modern Irish literature.

Great introductory anthology
Bought this for my degree - used it throughout the three years of the course. A great selection of wonderful Irish drama. If you're interested in the area but not sure where to start, this is definitely worth the money. Highly recommend!
