Affordable Style for the Calligrapher During Work Hours. :)
I do calligraphy with an actual calligrapher's pen and tools, but for my everyday non-stop research and writing (not associated with calligraphy- practical uses) I need something that can help me write in my "font" and at ease. These fountain pens are going to be tougher than a ball point pen to use for a person who has not had a lot of experience with fountain pens, though if you have a style that coincides with calligraphy (slanted) then you'll probably have an easier time adjusting. I still use Pilot Precise Rolling Ball V5 pens for a lot of my writing because they are finer in tip, and do not require so much ink or space to write, and can give me a change in writing style, but I love BIC Disposable Fountain Pens for their convenience and style. I get a lot of compliments, though would not advocate this pen for every situation. If you need quick writing speed, or are not very fond of using pens or writing devices- then I would suggest sticking to a regular ball point pen.

A Great Little Development in writing tools
I've always liked writing with a fountain pen... I feel it gives me more of a connection with the page (OK - a little bit of hyperbole).Nonetheless, I've bought many expensive fountain pens over the years; lost some, broken others, not been happy with still others...And that's why I'm pleased to say good things about BIC's disposable fountain pens. They actually feel good to write with, and in true BIC fashion, they "write first time, every time".They are well-balanced, smooth to write with, and so far, after a month of use, have not run out of ink. Now, that latter point is not particularly relevant, since I don't use them every day.Bottom line, though, is that I like the way they write and feel. Good value for money. Buy lots of them if you like fountain pens!

Nice pen, poorly designed cap
The tip of the pens are great for a disposable fountain pen. The length and weight are fine as well. My major issue with these pens is the caps always break.I wont buy anymore because of this major design flaw in the cap. When the caps crack, the pen is basically worthless/trash. 6 of 6 have cracked along the base within a few weeks of purchase.

Medium point but writes like fine point
I don't think the ink comes out enough unlike other fountain pens (like the Varsity). Also, writes like fine point even though it is listed as medium point. Ink is a little light and watered down for my taste. I like a darker, heavier (red/blue) ink.

BIC's New Fountain Pens a Bit Disappointing
As a fountain pen aficionado, I am happy BIC now offers these disposables. I have two criticisms: 1) At $12 a pack, it's a bit too expensive; 2) The ink in the red pen is terrible because it is too light. The black and blue inks are fine, however. Unless BIC reformulates the red ink and lowers the price, I probably would not buy the package again.

Fun to write
These are smooth enough. I get them to carry around so I don't lose my at-home good fountain pens. I give these as gifts, one with a pack of cards, to make it fun and to encourage fountain pen writing! This 3 pack goes to a distant 21 year old to say Happy B-day and "have fun at work". The inks are not very dark, not very vivid but adequate for most notes, etc. Haven't had one long enough to say how long they last. It took awhile for them to come, as stated, but not as long as it might have.

Excellent Disposable Fountain Pen.
I've used other disposable fountain pens before. This was my first Bic brand. They got it right. If you want to have a fountain pen without the cost, use such a pen where the chance of it being lost is high or just want to try out using a fountain pen without committing, here is your pen.Good color blue ink. Great flow of ink. Note that I enjoy a heavy line and this delivers. Perhaps worth noting is that every disposable I've ever used has a heavy flow of ink and this is no exception.

Love these Pens
I love to write with fountain pens. I bought these for work since my office buys the cheap crap and when I bought other pens they would come up missing ( go figure someone with nice pens and they come up missing in an office with crap pens), needless to say since I bought these none have come up missing as no one can seem to write with them :-). For a disposable fountain pen they last a long time and work great.
