Ralston Foods Hot Instant 100 Percent Wheat Cereal, 40 Pound -- 1 each.

I have eaten ONLY Ralston hot cereal since I was a small child, some 55+ years now. After searching high and low in groceries from Georgia to New York and again online, I was thrilled to find this Ralston package sold in bulk at a very reasonable price. My spouse had never had Ralston, but is now a big fan. Thankfully there’s plenty so I feel at ease sharing my morning pot of thick, creamy (yep, old style, made with milk, water, and butter) golden wheat cereal with a smile.This is my second time buying. You should be aware that it is not as pictured. This it is a large plain brown 40-lb bag of Ralston that is usually sold to hotels and restaurants. I use my vacuum sealer to portion out bags that are approximately 2-lbs each. I gave a few bags to my sisters then stack the rest in the spare freezer for me and the spouse. Since I cannot get Ralston from my local grocery, it’s great having my own secret stash. The last 40-lb bag that I bought stayed fresh in vacuum sealed bags and lasted about about 18-mos. in my household with two adults (yeah, since I must share my Ralston).

We have loved this cereal for many years and have been very disappointed to be unable to find it on store shelves. Shopping for the product on-line often ended with the product not being available or overpriced due to the added shipping.When we found a 40 pound sack (not the pictured package) at a price with good value, we jumped at it. We did buy mylar bags with oxygen absorbers for much of it but have bagged up some to give to friends and family who also miss this product.Move over, rolled oats and cream of wheat. You now have competition at our breakfast table.

But it's really fraud to use the picture of the product (the 20 oz. resealable bag). The forty pound paper sack with black printing looks nothing like the convenient, resealable (microwaveable) pouch. I suggest purchasing this fine food from another vendor.

The legendary western movie star of years gone by, had as one of his sponsors this fine product. At the peak of his popularity, he was the highest paid actor in Hollywood. Not just the highest paid western star but the highest paid of all actors in Hollywood. When he said a product was good people listened. They still should.

I have always very much liked Ralston cereal but lately cannot find it in stores so I bought the 40 pound bag through Amazon. I divided it up into useful portions using large Ziploc bags and have made many gifts of it to friends. But I've been very careful to keep an adequate supply for myself. I'd have given it 5 stars but the size of the bag detracts from its usefulness. But if they keep it on the market I'll continue to buy it because I always want it around.Ward AnthonyBoulder, Colorado

Happy to have purchased this product. I am well stocked now so I can cook my husband's favorite cereal whenever he desires it. The shipping was quick and I used Ziploc gallon bags to store. We are very happy with this product.
