It works, but...
Love the idea of a "MagSafe"-like experience on USB C cables. My PC laptop is smaller than my lap, leaving me concerned about the pressure that is put on the charging cable when the laptop is placed in my lap on a charger. This adapter allows the cable to "flex" some if the laptop is pressed against my legs while using it. This is great as my laptop's ports are protected, bad - though - because there are some things to be aware of with the adapter.First off, the adapter is rated for Thunderbolt 3 connections. Not sure if it matters, but my laptop is a Thunderbolt 4 connection. The adapter seems to work fine with this, but I am only using it for power, so far. I might get another adapter for other places, but not sure yet. Another thing to note is the adapter gets quite warm while using the laptop. This isn't a situation where I'm putting a load on the laptop. Just typing this review on the laptop with a full battery and the adapter is quite warm.Fit-and-finish is okay. The plug does wobble on the long edge a lot, but the light stays lit. The up/down is pretty touchy, though and the breakaway "breaks" very easily. The magnet is strong, but not "MagSafe" levels. Another issue is the adapter sticks out quite far from the laptop. While I note this as an annoyance, the reality is, I don't know if they could have done much better. It is what it is: an adapter...and those can be a little larger than you might like. I'd like to take a star for this, but some other issues do that for me.Packaging was "meh". It came in a little tin box with no branding, no instructions, and an odd screw-in loop that doesn't seem to connect to anything on the adapter. I suspect this isn't the seller's first go-around and bet that contacting someone for help will be difficult. My hopes aren't high this will last long, either. Knock off a star for no branding or other information.Another concern with no paperwork and such is there isn't any information about licensing (such as Underwriters Lab/UL). Such a lack of review on an electrical component that channels 100W (my laptop pulls 90W) leaves me concerned. Take off a star for making something that could catch fire and not letting me know if it has been reviewed by third parties. Will I keep this? I'm still thinking about it. I love the idea of a MagSafe adapter, but would prefer one that is tested and where the company's reputation will stand behind it. No branding or instructions leave me concerned about this, especially with the heat it is producing while not under any load. Amazon's third-party sellers hock low-quality low price things and change names when the reviews catch up with them. I hope this isn't the case with this product. I want to love it, but the maker is making it hard to. Would rate it 2 stars, but am giving them 3 to start with and will adjust depending.

Fell apart immediately
I was looking forward to have these magnetic adapters to prevent possible damage to my MacPro but after taking them out of their box, the metal attached to the plastic part that goes into the laptop, separated, making the whole magnetic idea pointless. The plastic and metal were not held together very well and the magnet was stronger than what was holding the metal to the proper side. $22 down the drain. The two pieces on the right of the photo attached are supposed to be joined, and stay together, ideally a lot more strongly.

Saved my phone
I have a phone with a USB-C charging port that was starting to fail, and it was getting worse every time I unplugged and re-plugged the charger. My solution was to plug this adapter into my phone and just leave it in all the time, and I haven't had a problem since. The adapter is small, so it barely sticks out from the phone. The magnetic connection is strong, and I still get fast charging.

Works great so far. Charge light helpful
If you are reading this, you've likely already seen that there are dozens of designs for magnetic charging cables and connectors. There are fewer that work with chargers putting out 65W or more, but still a number of different ones. I've tried several with some outright fails, some I like, and none that are perfect. However, even stating that none are perfect, this design from Fonken (also sold under at least one other brand) is the best I've tried so far; hence the 5 star rating. While 5 stars would indicate "perfection" and none reach that level, I do think this one gets the most possible out of this design concept.I use this set of connectors to charge my laptop with both my laptop manufacturer's 65W charging brick and another high powered 100W charger. And when I say "laptop" I literally mean a computer sitting in my lap on the couch or in bed. Plugging the standard USB-C charge cable directly into my laptop I worried I was placing too much stress on the connection and I worried that there was near certainty I'd eventually trip over the cable and yank the laptop HARD.So, a magnetic connector seems the best safe solution to prevent damage to my expensive laptop and/or charger. There is one reason that makes me recommend a separate connector plugging into a standard USB-C (rather than a dedicated cable/magnetic connector combo) and two reasons why I recommend this particular connector for charging a laptop.I recommend a separate connector for charging a laptop because it works with any USB-C cable and if you have a brick with a non-detachable cable, that's important. Also, if I want to use my laptop charging cable to charge my phone I can remove this magnetic connector and plug the standard USB-C right in. If you have a cable/connector combo, then you have to use the same cable every time and in my phone example, you would have to have a tip plugged into the phone. In my "case" (i.e. my waterproof phone case), a magnetic tip won't even fit into the phone charger port.I do use a dedicated cable/magnetic cable combo with my tablet, ear buds case, action camera, and gaming headset. For these devices, that I don't operate with the charging cable connected, the combo works well as between them, there are 3 different types of tips required and with a combo I can make use of a single magnetic cable to charge them.I recommend this particular connector design from Fonken (and Anmone) for laptop charging because it has a light that indicates charging is taking place and it's stays attached slightly better than others I've tried. I do wish the light was on both sides of the connector, but it still helps and is visible even if shining down. The reason this connector stays connected better than others is not necessarily because of a stronger magnet, but because it fits more "hand in glove" than others. We'll see if it holds up over time, but from two weeks of daily use, it seems good.I'll update this review as needed.Note that I have not used these yet with data transfer and do not plan to.

Be aware
Don’t use with apple original adaptor. It is so sad I used this with my original apple adaptor for HDMI, USB and usb-c. What happened is that the FONKEN damaged the HDMI port and now I cannot use it anymore with my HDMI.That is horrible. It says that it charges and transfer data but I didn’t think it would damage the other port. Now I have to buy another $60 dollars apple adapter.

Magnetic power plug is back!
Used a MacBook Pro with magnetic power connection for many years. My new Macbook Air only has USB-C ports. This product adapts the C port to a magnetic port. Simple, functional!

Mostly works with last intel MacBook Pro 13-inch
Got two dell monitors hooked up to two different desks with the same USB-C power pass hub, wired keyboards, and bluetooth mouses at my mothers office and her home office. For SOME reason, the lid of the Apple MBP needs to stay open at one of the desks... very strange. Other than that, these are rockin!

Great but Isn't thunderbolt 3 supposed to support 40 Gb/ps?
It literally just fit in my ipad pro 11 (3rd gen) with the Logitech folio touch case. Since i have the case it makes it almost flush with the outside, which is nice. That said, because its a tight fit due to the case rubber, you have to slightly wiggle or force it to fully engage the magnet. Once connected though its really secure. I may still drill out the case hole slightly on each end to make it easier to plug in. Either way its totally worth, the magnets are nice and strong. I use my port pretty often, especially to do top up charging since i dont like to charge past 80%, nor is it necessary. I dont want to wear out my port prematurely, and shame on apple for not including a magnetic charge port like the surface pro separate from the HDMI/USB. Oh well, thats what these third party magnet adapters are for, highly recommended!

Port savers
I've always been a fan of magnetic gadgets like these. They save wear and tear on ports. I'm using these on my Surface Pro 8 and they work just fine. I also have a similar product for my cell phone.I love the convenience and the fact that I can just pop them off easily when I need to, without worrying about damaging anything. Honestly, they are the best investment you can make for your treasured electronics. The only knock is that they are a bit pricey, but they work and it's a good insurance policy. The magnets are strong and the signals go through. Perfect!

Paying for Quality and Performance
Yes they are expensive. But....The transfer rates and the "fast charging" capabilities are worth it. You will not get the message about slow charging you see pop up on some devices. (unless its your cord or plug slowing the process. I bought a set for a specific high end device as a "just in case" Today I ordered another 2 pack so I can use it on more devices and more locations that I leave my cords/plugs. I do love these things. Magnets are nice and strong but I've gone to plug things in and that special connector is in another part of the house. It's a pain to try to get the little piece that plugs into your device out btw. Especially with a case. But I guess that's a good thing.A side note. Both ends are magnetic. The connector attached to my cord I often just stick to something steel and grab it when I want. (not hanging on the floor. The little nib in the phone: (if I do ever take them out to use a regular cord) I stick to a betal object around the plug area and it doesn't get lost. Great job to this company!

They cost a bit more, and work a lot better.
Have used these adapters for a few weeks now and I seriously had doubts about them. I have used many of these adapters and most have cheap, weak magnets and unreliable connections to the actual cable inputs. These have noticeably stronger magnets (great for charging the new MBP with USB C charging- Magsafe reborn!)Came with a little metal ringed lanyard but don't see the use for it...They also seem to be quite durable. I am a bit rough with my cables and so far have held up exactly as expected. Happy to have an adapter that's reliable for charging and transfer!

It works well
Reason for purchasing...Since I got a new A2337 MacBook Air I wanted to take some extra precautions and decided to go with a magnetic usb-c adapter, mainly for charging to prevent any accidents.Recommendation...I am not sure if there are any alternatives that can address the issues that I have with these. If you cannot find any that do then these are still a good choice.Issues I found...I purchased the apple MacBook plastic cover for my MacBook. This prevented me from leaving the magnetic plug in the MacBook when I want to close the lid. This is mostly an issue of convenience since I now have an additional item to remove from my carry bag as well as to put away. The second issue that I noticed was that the magnetic adapter heats up a fair amount when the MacBook is charging. Although it is not to the point that it will damage anything it is still something to take notice of.The final issue that I will mention is once again more of a convenience issue. Since I need to remove the magnetic plug every time I am done charging or connecting a device I need to use the string that comes with the magnetic adapters. Although this is not a big deal I think that it would have been nice if the string used to remove the magnetic plug was attached to the adapter casing to prevent it from being lost and simply for ease of use.
