Good Investment for Great Tasting Water!
We've had this water filter for 6.5 months and it has been a game changer! We couldn't stand the taste of our water and were purchasing bottled water to drink and cook with. We've saved about $80./month so it's a great investment. Now we don't worry about what's in the water we are putting in our bodies! No problems with leakage like a couple of other reviews state.

This filter is perfect for us
I inherited an expensive MultiPure countertop filter from my sister that affixes to the sink faucet. Flipping a button at the faucet toggles the filter line on and off, which is important to be able to do because you cannot run hot water through the filter. This is a drag, because you have to remember to do it. Also, the white water hose on mine had gotten stained from falling down into a soaking spaghetti-sauce pot because there was just no good place to put the filter on our countertop to keep this from happening. It was always in my way. So when I got the opportunity to choose from several undersink filtration systems to review, I finally decided on this one, and I’m so glad I did. I didn’t think I could deal with a larger setup with three or four different filters that have to be replaced after varying lengths of time. This has the one filter that’s replaced once a year plus an indicator light to tell you when that’s needed. Just like with the refrigerator filter, you press a button at the start of the filter’s life, and it will tell you when time’s up. When I looked up the cost of the replacement filter ($89.95 at the time of this writing), I balked a little, but then I remembered that the MultiPure replacement filters costs $90, although you can buy knock-offs for half that. I figured that kind of cost is worth it for good filtered water, and it certainly beats having to wrestle with 5-gallon jugs of trucked in water. Here’s what I really love about this filter: (1) It’s so easy to install, I was able to do it myself. Just watch the video! From the looks of it, changing the filter will be even easier. (2) You hook the filter to the cold water line only, so the cold water is always going to be filtered without having to push a button to turn it on and off. This may be why the filter is changed after one year when the MultiPure filter is supposed to be good for up to two years. (3) The hot water is not filtered, but so what? The only thing I use hot water for at the sink is for dishwashing, cleaning, and mopping. But for water for cooking, making coffee, and drinking from the tap, I always want the water to be filtered and cold. So this is a perfect setup for me. (4) This unit takes up far less room under the sink than those reverse osmosis units (with their three or four filters) do. Especially if you don’t have a lot of storage space in your house or apartment, this is important. (5) And speaking of apartments, we used to live in one, and I know tenants are often prohibited from doing anything to the plumbing. This unit allows for stealth water filtration, because if you know they are coming to inspect, you can just remove the filter until they’re gone, then put it back on. I cannot imagine a resident manager would have a problem with this type of filter, though, because nothing has to be altered to use it. In fact, it’s so easy to take on and off that you could move it from the kitchen sink to the bathroom to fill up water storage bottles from the cold-water toilet line or bathtub water source if you had to. Or take it with you on a trip!

The proof is in the pudding, or should I say ~ water.
My wife and I just did a complete remodel of our homes kitchen. We’ve been using a Brita Ultramax system since 2005 and thought we were happy with it. The Brita broke during the remodel and I considered replacing it. However, I saw this under sink solution, read the reviews and saw that it also filters out lead and PFOS as well, so I bought it. It was easy to install and the filter is claimed to last a year ~ a win in my books. It was easy to install and once the filter was flushed (15 minutes), the water tasted wonderful ~ Very pleased with the taste, quality and ease of installation.

Easy To Install Short Cords
So you know how easy something would be to install if the cord was just like an inch or even a half-inch longer, that is what I ran into with this install. Let me start by saying the the install itself is pretty basic and quick to do just like it said. But if you have a garbage disposal, a dishwasher, and your plumbing is sort of centric and that includes a T adapter with shut-off valves, well, the inlet cord was just a little short for me because it points up not down and that same cord prevented me from moving the the purifier out of the way. It's more prominent towards the front than I'd like which means other folks might bump into it now and then. Now I am not saying this is poorly made. It doesn't seem to be. It's plastic though, and not the hardiest so I can foresee long-term jostling being an issue for anyone not wary it's there. All of this would be solved if they just provided a slightly longer cord for sinks that maybe have a little more going on with it. Now in terms of the filter, it noticeably reduced my water pressure, but not detrimentally so and obviously just for the cold water. The battery placement is a little awkward because it's on the bottom and those same short cords make it a challenge to tip and remove, and you do have to press the little button to get a read on the filer to know when it's time to replace. It says... pushing the button starts the timer so... I'm thinking they expect you to replace the filter every year, regardless of use. I am not a huge fan of that, but I also noticed all the other filtration systems involve a lot more install. If quickish and done is for you, this is the system you're looking for.
