The BEST auto feeder EVER
I have tried multiple auto feeders and this is by far my FAVORITE. It is reliable, the battery lasts forever, and is easy to program. It can feed up to 4 scheduled feedings a day and is super adjustable to get just the right amount of food. This is the best one to load food into! The whole drum comes off and then you take off the lid to easily refill with the fish food of your choice. I love this feeder for fry and doing multiple smaller feedings throughout the day. They made going on vacation much easier as my sitter didn't have to stress about what food and how much to feed on multiple tanks. I didn't worry about overfeeding while I was out of town, a problem I have had in the past.I will also include that I accidentally dropped one into a 75 gallon tank. I immediately pulled it out of the water and took the batteries out. I unscrewed the unit to take off the plastic cover to let it dry out. It still works perfectly! I really don't recommend dropping them in water but I am extremely happy with this product.I have another auto feeder I hate with a passion because reloading the food is a total mess and basically involves disassembling the whole unit. It has been replaced with this Eheim feeder.

Needs modification for small tanks, but worth it.
These feeders are very reliable in their timing and action but the slot the food comes out of could use a bit of a redesign. The notches are too widely spaced and too ill fitting. I suppose it would work excellently with medium-large pellets but the micro pellets for my tetras pour out like sand and the small pellets for my betta are either not coming out or too many are coming out. As many others have done, I modified the doors with some tape and got it to dispense the right amount. The problem is that the tape (I tried electrical tape and packing tape) changes shape with temperature. It lead to a lot of inconsistency and failures till I got it right. There are no better feeders at this price point so all this work isn't worthless to get it working. I just think that if the hopper were redesigned for small fish food and sold separately as an add-on for like $10, I would buy it. It would probably sell like hot cakes. All the feeders designed for small fish tanks have poor reviews so currently everyone just has to make do. This one kept my fish fed while I was gone for 5 days, but it still over-fed a bit despite a few hours of "tuning" and a successful test day before I left. The snails loved it though.

Small Portion Size - A Little Tricky
Very easy to program and use. I bought the feeders for vacations and am using them full time instead. Cures any tendency to over feed.Measuring the portion size for a small (20G) tank with just a few fish was a little tricky. But with some effort you get there.Quality piece of equipment.

Convenient!
Holds so much food for feeding! Easy to set up and safe feeding. I like this product because it is battery operated! Best for places that experience power outages. I bought this set of 2; one for my fish and one for my turtle! Feeds up to six weeks if you go on a trip! Just put fresh batteries before you leave. This item came with batteries and still going strong! Highly recommended!

Works perfectly! but 4 stars for overfeeding
Perfect for feeding the fish while on vacation or when making sure you get those 2-feeds a day! The gap in it is made for dispersing large amounts of food, even on the smallest setting. I used some cardboard taped over the opening with a small hole punched through it in order to try and slow down the rate it feeds for my betta fish pellets and I think that did the job. It still over feeds a bit, but not as much. I still highly recommend this product! just make sure you don't overfeed!

Setup was easy, program in time of day
I bought a pair of these for my 2 aquariums while I was on vacation for a week. The flake fish food worked well with it. Just make sure to break up any large flakes. My other tank I feed reptomin floating sticks for amphibians, and it worked just as well for those. Setup was easy, program in time of day, then setup feeding schedule, up to 4 times a day, and 1 or 2 cycles per feeding.Do a "dry run" into a cup to dial in how large to have the feeder opening.
