After buying two labtop coolers that were ineffective, this one does a great job for my Acer
I have an Acer Predator Helios Neo 16. It has a GPU and gets quite hot when I run programs that are energy intensive, such as tensorflow for some of my more advanced python programs. I don't game, so I can't comment on that. In the past I tried to use two different inexpensive labtop coolers, one of which was rated on Amazon about the same as the IETS (4.5), but were much less expensive, and neither one lowered the internal temperature of the labtop measurably. I am VERY happy with the IETS, though. It is basic in that there are no glowing lights, no displays of fan speed, but it absolutely gets the job done. Most of all, I wanted a cooler that would not make a lot of noise when its running. This model is excellent in that regards, even though the advertisement warns that it is loud when run at high speeds. I never need to crank it all the way up to near maximum speed, which avoids the loud noise, but the labtops internal temperature still runs 10-20 degrees F cooler even on a very reduced fan speed. I have measured it several times and there is no doubt that it is excellent in its control of internal temperature of the Acer. There is a soft hum at the level I use it, but it is quiet and not jarring. You control the fan speed, by the way, by a small wheel on the left side of the IETS. The unit does not plug into the USB port of the labtop, but has a separate power plug with about a 5 foot long cord. Works fine from my perspective. The unit did cost in the range of 80+ dollars, but my experience is that buying the $25 units that I tried don't get the job done, as does this unit. So, my take home message is if you don't want bells and whistles (I mean, its job is just to cool down the labtop), but you really care about keeping your gaming labtop cool without having to suffer through loud noises, this model performs quite well.

It’s a buy for me
I recently started gaming on my laptop and noticed it was getting hot, so I decided to purchase this cooling stand to help. It work great! The computer is slightly warm to the touch but significantly cooler than before. The fan is a bit loud but you can turn down the fan speed if the noise is too much. It has foam seals to fit whatever size laptop you have, which keeps the air moving directly onto your laptop rather than seeping out. Overall, I’d recommend to anyone that needs a good cooling fan for their laptop.

As described, tested with excellent results, but noisy at max cooling capacity
Ran Second Life Firestorm viewer at maximum graphics resolution with 20fps, draw distance to 1024, and maximum complexity 300K and in parallel ran Google Chrome browser with a youtube video playing. This pushed the NVIDIA GForce GTX1050 to 100% and Intel i7 to 25% with internal fan cooling only. The GPU temp hit +72C, turn on this cooling fan at low settings for minimum noise and GPU temperature dropped to +68C. Turn fan to maximum and the GPU temperature drops from +72C to +54C. Big difference and no thermal throttling! The cooling pad can be very noisy with the fan running at full capacity, but with headphones on, no system lag, no thermal throttling (usually clocks turned down), the noise is tolerable. Noise canceling headphones are best. If you do not want to used head phones, then be aware that this unit can be very very noisy at max fan speed. Next, the USB expander on the right side is perfect (one to three ports). I can expand one of my USB-C ports to three USB 2.0 ports. This is available on the IETS GT500V1. I used the expander for headphones, camera, and wired mouse. This product is from China (we'll see if it lasts, but Chinese companies can produce and export good products ... if they want to, so far this product appears to be of very good quality and solidly built).

Great cooling fan
This fan is pretty nice. It absolutely crushes cooling. My 17inch gaming laptop use to crash during hardcore gaming sessions and now it doesn’t. I can feel the hot air being pushed out through all the vents. I check the temperature and the fan keeps it around 50-55 Celsius. Before it would be around 70-75 Celsius. A huge difference. There are a couple problems. The fan on high is loud. I wear headphones so it doesn’t bother me but just be aware of it. The button to power it on is also kind of cheap looking so I am worried about longevity there. Finally it looks kind of weird. The laptop sits on top of foam to get the seal. Because of this it works great but aesthetically it isn’t the most pleasing.Overall I just needed it to keep my laptop cool and if that’s all you need then look no further.

it's basically a jet engine (in a good way)
Works better than I expected. 2 weeks of use so far. No issues.Pros:- insane cooling. My laptop use to get burning hot under stress, making the keyboard unusable. Now, running at max RPM, it's often COOLER than my body temperature.- Great design. The foam keeps the laptop from sliding around and traps the cool air. Plastic is durable and stable with strong legs.CONS:-LOUD AF. this is probably best suited for home use. Similar to your PS4 struggling to run Crysis. But the cooling performance is worth the noise.-requires DC power to run. Probably cuz thing has a Boeing 747 jet engine.- not very portable. Won't fit into a small backpack or bag.If you are running into thermal throttling cuz your laptop is too hot then this will solve all your issues.

The Beat Gaming Laptop Fan
My gaming laptop was constantly overheating, and while my specs could handle the games, but it would get so hot it would make everything go slow. I had tried other smaller, cheaper fans, but nothing made a dent. Then I found this and gave it a shot. It works so well, I can now play any game with no issue. I do have to make sure it's set up properly, but when it is, this fan keeps it cool enough to not slow down the game at all. It was a miracle, and I bet it also helps make my laptop last longer by it not overheating. Would highly recommend
