Using it on top of a layer of interlock foam pad to provide sufficient cushion. Would not be sufficient on its own on hard floor

It is not a cotton mat as the name of the listing suggests
The name suggests that it is cotton (MatLeya Portable Baby Cotton Play Mat Machine Washing...), but it's not. It's 100% polyester. Shortly after buying, tiny balls appear on the fabric which later are all over babies hands.
