Gourmet 10-Piece Knife Block Set

I did a lot of research before choosing a knife set, and this one ended up being the best balance of quality and value — and I’m really glad I went with it. The knives are sharp right out of the box and handle everyday kitchen tasks easily — chopping, slicing, and prepping all feel smooth and controlled. They’re also lighter than some heavier knife sets, which I actually prefer for daily use. The handles feel comfortable and secure, and everything looks clean and well-made in the block on the counter. What I liked most is that this set gives you the essentials without a bunch of extra pieces you won’t use. It feels practical but still high quality. The only thing to know is that this is part of the Gourmet line, so the knives are stamped rather than forged — which keeps them lighter and more affordable, but they may not feel as heavy as higher-end professional sets.  Overall, if you’re looking for a solid, reliable knife set for everyday cooking without going into the super expensive range, this is a great choice.

Was given a small, two knife set as a gift. They were/are incredible! Decided to spend a bit more than usual to get this higher quality, superb full set. Like me, if you cook and can afford these knives, GET THEM. I mentioned price a few times - these are not inexpensive BUT are a super value for the functionality, quality, and quantity. THESE ARE SUPER SHARP - I have had some small, inadvertent cuts to hands/fingers. Having really sharp knives means paying closer attention to handling. Don’t be afraid, just heed this experienced warning ( and have some bandaids). Cannot truly express how happy I am that I did finally treat myself to fabulous knives. Final note, like I did, one can start with a smaller set and build from there. BUT buy this brand because they are exceptional.

OMG! I needed a new block/knife set- my previous Cuisinart set was so bad, resharpening them wasn’t the answer- the blades just wouldn’t hold the sharpness. Did my research for something superior, & the Wusthof brand delivered! I use them daily & they are staying sharp as a knives should be! I love them! They may seem a bit more pricey, but the steel used is such a nice quality- worth every penny! I cook at home a lot-& it makes chopping & dicing a lot quicker when you have the right tools. I even splurged & bought (when they were on an Amazon deal) the 4 steak knives that the block has room for, but did not come w/ this set. I plan on adding a couple more knives to the set when there is a good deal on them, too. Very happy with my purchase!

Ordered for sister for Christmas. I have these myself, I believe they are the best!

EDIT: I have had them for a year and a half now. DO NOT PUT THEM IN THE DISHWASHER. The little metal plugs in the handle that help to hold the handle on the blade have begun disintegrating and a few are gone all together. The blades will also come out of the dishwasher with some rust spots. In my initial review (continue reading) I talked about the wood block being second-rate. I ended up with a magnetic strip on the wall to store the knives, and I am happy with this. If you can buy the knives sans woodblock, that would probably be a better purchase. I just received this today as a Valentine's gift from my hubby (no, that's not tacky....I always prefer practical gifts) and I was initially very disappointed, because as you can see in my photos, the wood block has flaws that I will have to try to touch up. It's definitely not gorgeous wood like the one showed on Amazon. I just think for the price, this should be a quality purchase all around. However, I will keep it since the knives are the most important part. I will see how the block touches up. I wouldn't buy it for a wedding gift or anything since I can't be guaranteed the block is going to look nice. Also, one more thing: Most of the knives must stay in their cardboard sheath if you want them to fit snugly in the slots in the block.

I like that it is a smaller set but with all the excellent performance of these knives.

I cannot believe Amazon endorsed this seller. Almost immediately the scissors kept falling apart. I contacted the company several times and was told to send pictures which I did multiple times and each time someone different would answer and ask for more pictures. Now, after a year of using, there are black spots showing on the edges of some knives. scissors still won't stay together when using and they are definitely not as sharp as I expected. I would say don't buy! If there customer service had been better I would have put them at a 2!

I went back and forth about spending this much on a knife set. I bought some cheaper knife sets and the quality was terrible, I returned them. This is a beautiful and sharp set and worth it. Of course you have to keep them sharp like any set but the craftsmanship is noticeable. I got these on sale so watch for one.
