Q: How well does the insulated lunch bag insulate cold/ hot foods?

The insulated material is very sturdy. I put an ice cube in the lunch bag. After six hours the ice cube has not melted completely.everything is still nice

Yes, you can easily disassemble it.

Q: When partially filled, does it stand up ok or start to collapse?

Stands up perfectly well even when empty. Only if you forcefully fold it down is when it collapses. It is good quality for the money it cost.

Q: Is this lunch bag machine washable, or is the outside at least easy to wipe clean?

Owning this bag, I personally have never put it in the washing machine but I guess you can, it seems sturdy. It is very easy to clean with a sponge or wet paper towel in the sink and that does just fine. I am assuming you would want to wash the outside, which I have never done. If you buy the color black I don't see a need for it. Hope this helps!
