Works for small jobs
It gets hot enough to work effectively with lead-free solder. It's got a very small tip. The tip had a little oxidation, but not bad; easy to clean off with the standard brillo + wet sponge. Tinning the tip was a little tough for a brand new iron. Tips can be replaced.I think the temperature control near the upper limit doesn't get any hotter than maybe 375C, but that's good enough for small jobs. The screw mechanism for the tip isn't very good quality - I feared over-tightening because of how flimsy they were. After soldering about 45 electronic joints, the screw mechanism had started to loosen. So I wouldn't use it for more than maybe 75 joints in a row without re-tightening (probably after cooling it!).Given that, for the price I paid (cheapest iron on amazon), it's tough to complain.

Gets hot quick!
How about this is a replacement for a kit that I had the Saturday and it was in the kit stopped working and I replaced it with this one. This one doesn't have a light in it on the temperature adjustment dial but it works very well and gets hot fast.

Hard to complain about a soldering iron so cheap but be careful it gets hot
I needed the cheapest soldering iron money could buy and this was it it arrived it works no complaints about that aspect however there are some cautions this gets hot enough that the metal glows red I'm not kidding I did a double take and I was like is that glowing? Oh my God it's glowing and I turned it down :-) it can get shockingly hot the other issue I have is that the dial is virtually impossible to read without a magnifying glass but I just kept turning it down until it felt rightIt's not fancy it's not robust it's not incredible what it is is dirt cheap and gets the job done for that I applaud it

Works well
I keep a couple of these around, they work well, take easily available tips, are easy to use and are a good value (as of October 2020). I did wreck my first one being too aggressive changing tips but after that mine stay working for a long time. These work for about 80% of what you need a soldering iron for but as they are only about 60 watts maximum if you need to solder something on a large heat sink you will need a higher current soldering iron.

Did what I needed it to do.
I bought this for a single task, needed to tin lead wires for setting up a stereo system. It served that task just fine. I may never need to use this again, but cheap enough.

Ok Soldering Iron
It's ok... very basic control...It looks like the iron tip seems to have corroded already... but it does what I need it to which is basically to make holes in water bottles for craft purposes...

Gets the job done.. and it's cheap!
For the price it's hard to say anything bad. It simply gets the job done. No issues, great price.

Great little unit.
First timer "electrician". Needed to fix a garden light. Learned you need three hands to solder things. This little tool worked great.
