I use well water in my humidifiers and would have to clean my devices a few times per week to prevent bacteria build-up (a slimy brown residue). I put in about 6 to 10 drops per 1 gallon and have not had any issues with residue since I have included this in my humidifier filling routine. It really does work well. I know there was some concern about the bottle in another review, but I have not had an issue. You do have to squeeze it a bit, but you can clearly see the drops coming out of the bottle and it helps to regulate adding too much of the solution. I will be purchasing this again.

I purchased this item because I noticed some gross buildup in my 2 gallon Humidifier. I would only use distilled or filtered water and after using filtered water most recently, there seemed to be some whitish film substance inside. I purchased this product to clean and help purify my humidifier. However, upon receipt I read the directions and it was clear, this product is not to clean or demineralize a humidifier but instead to keep a clean humidifier clean and working efficient, but not to clean a dirty one. I ended up soaking my humidifier in distilled white vinegar for an hour and than did a hot rinse with a shower head with a concentrated blast of water and all of the film and residue came right off and out. I put it back together and started using this product, 6 drops for a galloon of water and an extra drop for care. I will use the humidifier at least 5 times a week with tap water and I will update how this product works.I am using this product to see if it will help the humidifier stay clean and work efficient while filling with California valley tap water. I previously used galloon jars of distilled water and most recently, purified water from the dispensers outside of grocery stores. I am now going to use tap and this product to see if it works as good or better.UPDATE 6/2024 After 4 months of use this works. None of the white film or hard water stains have came back and the sludge I rinse off every month or so is minimal.

Prior to using this product my humidifier would develop that musty smell within 72 hours and cleaning the humidifier is a pain and it would get that slime buildup. I even bought a second one to always have one in operation. I can't recall how I found this product but I'm so happy I did. Just 6 drops into a gallon of the humidifier water and my humidifier hasn't developed a musty smell in two weeks of operation. I went ahead and washed out my unit and not a single spot of the humidifier had developed that slime. It's as if it was brand new. I will forever be purchasing this product as long as I have a humidifier in my home.

I’ve been using these for a few weeks now. There is a sediment in the mature that makes it impossible to get the drops out after time. I have tried shaking it and nothing works. 3 stars since I think the solution is actually pretty good at keeping the humidifier clean! Just wish it was easier to get out of the bottle

This is super easy to use and helps prevent too much calcium deposit buildup in our humidifiers. Definitely continue to clean your humidifiers on a weekly basis but this helps during those in-between washes.
