It seems to be a great clone of the Kindling Cracker. The forging appears to be of good quality. I haven't noticed anything that would make me think it will split in 2 or crack.That being said there are 2 things that would improve this product. It appears they didn't bother cleaning up and/or sharpening the ax head from the factory. Mine came with a minor chip in the cutting end. I have sharpened it a bit with some whetstones I have and it has improved the performance though some of the chips will take a few sharpenings to work out without utilizing a more aggressive sharpening regiment. The 2nd issue I had with the casting is one of the 3 holes to bolt down the base is partially blocked by slag.Sharpening the blade and a bit of QC would make this a solid option for anyone needing to break down some smaller splits (My usage is for my smoker).

This will not accomodate most delivered firewood because the top is too small. The next size larger would have been the write choice. One tip. Keep your feet clear because the split wood will hit your feet.

This was given as a gift. The user told me that it was easy to use and much safer than swinging a sharp ax. Easy to make controlled kindling cuts.

I don't write many reviews, but I couldn't resist. This splitter is a game changer! No dangerous axe or hatchet. I use a 3lb sledgehammer with it, and it works great! Couldn't be happier!!!!!

Depending on the piece of wood, it only takes a few hammer blows to split a oak firewood. It makes splitting kindling easy.

Really useful. I missed a few times and hit the rim but only heard the sound of the cast iron, it was very solid. There is no source anywhere. Completely cast.

You can tell this product wasn't manufactured in China. Solid, heavy and will last a lifetime.
