My New Favorite Tactical Pants
I work for the .gov, and my general in the field "uniform" is khaki cargo pants and a navy polo. I started out with 5.11s, moved to Blackhawks for the last few years, and last month decided to give these Woolrich lightweights a go because I'm spending more time in tropical / hot work environments. I love these things. Super lightweight and comfortable. I also really like the pocket placement as well as the ambidextrous design of the pockets (I'm left-handed). I wouldn't mind if the rear pockets were just a little bigger, but otherwise they are a very well thought out design. Absolutely the very lightest of the three brands I've worn. These are to 5.11 lightweight pants what 5.11 lightweight pants are to 5.11 standard pants. If anyone has ever worn Wrangler Angler pants, the material on these is about the same weight.Given they're so lightweight, I'm not sure how well they will hold up compared to the lightweight styles of other tactical pants, but for me the increased comfort is worth potentially having to replace them more often. As to sizing, I saw reviews that said they ran too small and others that said they ran too large. For me, they seemed to run too large. I usually try and buy these types of pants erring towards larger, just because I might need the waist to stretch for stuff. I ordered my first pair in a 38 waist, which is just about right in a Blackhawk, but I have to agree with a previous reviewer and her comment on them being "MC Hammer pants". Still wearable, but pretty baggy in the legs on me. I ordered a second pair in a 36 waist, and they are just right -- a little give in the waist without the legs looking like parachute pants.I recommend these if you are looking for lightweight and comfortable cargo pants.

best cargo pants so ever owned
They run slightly baggy, but I like them that way. They also shrink a bit after the first few washes. I purchased 2 pair of them 6 months ago and wear them to work every day, I alternate between the 2, and wash them every time I wear them, so they take a beating. They have worn like iron which surprised me considering how thin they are. None of the seams have opened or torn, I have ripped small holes in the pockets from catching them on sharp things and the holes haven't enlarged with the "ripstop stitching" I am a heavy equipment/construction worker and are very rough on cloths, I'm in mud, oil, dirt, grease, and everything in between. I have some some other work pants that are made from duck canvas double knee'd very heavy, and they don't wear as well as these. They are fabulously light weight for the summer, very easy to move in, and with all the pockets are great for carrying little tools you need. I am so impressed with them, I bought 6 more pairs and wear them out as casual cargo's before turning them into work pants. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great roomy light weight pant that look great and wear like iron.

Great pants for photojournalists
I'm a working photojournalist and go through pants like my morning coffee. A friend who works in law enforcement told me about the Woolrich Elite Tactical pants and I am glad he did.First, the pants are durable and seem to stay clean despite Oregon's rain and the mud puddles I always find myself in.Second, they are loose enough for great flexibility and look good with a polo style shirt or other business casual shirts.Third, I haven't caught the pants on a door or corner since I've had them. I counted three pairs of cargo pants in my inventory with tears from catching on stuff.Lastly, I try to avoid carrying around a camera bag when possible. These pants have a LOT of various sized pockets. Some are small for my cell phone or pens, others are big enough to carry a reporters notebook and a spare fixed lens. The rear pockets are very deep, probably designed for law enforcement notebooks, but they do have a wallet pocket as well. These may have been designed for police and sheriff's offices, but they definitely meet my needs. The upfront cost may seem hard to swallow, but for those that count on them, these are a great buy. I definitely plan to buy several more in the coming months.

Nice Pants!
This was the third pair I bought, after having bought my first pair a few weeks ago. This is a well-made and well-designed product. 10 pockets! Rip stop, light weight, and since they're all cotton, they breathe, and don't get too hot. They're loose enough to be comfortable, but not so much that any excess material gets hung up on objects I pass while doing day to day stuff in them. My only concern is for the elastic in the waistband. It's nice to have it, but I wonder how it will hold up long term. Of course, the belt loops and a belt will keep my pants up if and/or when the elastic relaxes.I like to spend time outdoors, and have enough pockets to carry my necessities, and these pants are perfect for spring and fall, where the temps can go from chilly to warm. And they're not so industrial looking that you'd look out of place wearing them where jeans are also appropriate. I bought my first pair in black to wear to a convention I was working on video crew where the attire was "business" (I had to wear a tie.), but I still needed the extra pockets for my gadgets and papers.

very comfortable
these have been very comfortable and durable. the rip-stop weave is effective at stopping rips from growing. i have a number of holes from snagging on stuff that have remained small. the exterior pockets are well made, durable, and expand without affecting the fit of the pants. the cut is made for mobility and they sit on the hips well without an excessive rise. there's no gusset in the crotch but that isn't an issue. the only issue i had is that i wore friction holes in the crotch from walking miles upon miles in them. there is a .5" strip of fabric covering the seam in the crotch, but it doesn't really do anything for durability as far as i can tell. i've bought multiple pairs of these. they're great.
