Nice stripper
Never had a mechanical stripper before and always wanted one but never had the need until recently and I love the thing now.Read complaints about these and some supposed inability for to work on various cable types and durability, but I had no issues stripping twin and earth and the cables inside, along with different size cables that were external flex of different diameter. The cutting movement is nice, enjoyable to strip cables, grip is good, quality is good, has not had any issues with operation and value is also good.

Better than the original C.K. ones
After a bit of a bad experience with C.K. Tools, whose UK customer service left a LOT to be desired (basically they told me I needed to sort it out with the reseller when it was clearly a manufacturing / quality control issue - I'm sure they are technically / legally right, but they should take more pride in their products right?) I decided to get these.I paid £11.99 in July 2023 which seems extremely cheap, so I wasn't expecting much. In fact, I had only just purchased (and then replaced the brand new and broken) my second pair of C.K. strippers. To be clear, I had a pair of C.K. for 15 years and was never amazed by them, but they were decent. The little depth stop broke on my old pair within the first few months, but I never felt the need to use it, so it didn't bother me. They eventually gave up the ghost after 15 years, I bought a new pair which didn't work properly, C.K. refused to speak to me, the shop where I bought them exchanged them for another set which are okay, then I bought these cheapo ones on Amazon just to see if I preferred them. And I really do.Price is only a few quid cheaper than the "original" C.K. ones, but already after having used them only a few times, I VASTLY prefer the design of this. Firstly the handle is far more comfortable owing to the rubberised grip. If I'm being honest, I always thought a rubber grip wasn't important, in fact perhaps I'd prefer them slightly slippy. But no, the rubber grip is far nicer to use. Makes it more enjoyable and definitely more comfortable in the hand. Time will tell whether the rubber grip keeps its shape and feel.Secondly the depth stop, which hasn't broken yet, is a FAR better design out of the box. It has a spring, and you can kind of twiddle / control it with your right hand whilst holding them only in the right hand (i.e. one-handed) which you definitely can't do with the C.K. Far better when you realise you left it in a position, then realise you need more depth, but you're holding a wire in your left hand, up a ladder etc. There's a little spring release mechanism in the depth stop, which is fun - flick it, and it gets out of the way. Nice! Also the depth stop is more chunky, and see-through. I can't think of any functional reason for the transparent design, but it looks cool. Finally - most importantly - the cutting jaw has a little gripper with a square shape, FAR FAR better than the design of the C.K. which just grips it in the main part of the gripper. Sorry if that doesn't make so much sense, but the result is that you can strip e.g. Twin & CPC (or any double insulated cable) much closer to the end of the stripped sheath, which makes it far better in my book. Also this chunky square shape seems to grip far better, meaning it doesn't slip - something my first C.K. strippers rarely did, but the newer ones I bought seem to do a bit too much.So yeh - even though I have a brand new pair of C.K., I just instinctively go to use this cheaper pair now.Fair warning - I have no idea if the materials will last well. If they last only for a year or so without parts falling off, then it will have been a false economy as the C.K. ones should last 10 years based on my previous experience. But here's hoping they will last, as I do prefer them out of the box!

Excellent buy - does the job
An excellent buy, don't know how I managed for years without one of these. Was searching for a known brand but this is half the price and seems to work perfectly.

Sturdy and indispensible.
Very good quality and does a number of different tasks. The ability to strip a mid-section of wire rather than just the end is brilliant, and it also cuts wire and does other things as well.

Poor instructions
Product is fine and reasonably well made. Definate lack of instructions on how it's features work though. This only 3 *

It's easier than it looks.
I have just used this to repair a damaged cord. It made the stripping of the outer sheath and inner wires incredibly easy compared with my past methods. If you are not sure how to use it, there are plenty of videos on tube.
