Easily open that stubborn jar of pickles with this versatile jar opener! Made of durable, heat resistant silicone, this tool is ideal for opening bottles and jars, hot or cold. Easily open jars and bottles. Features a secure non slip grip that allows you to effortlessly remove lids. Also perfect for use as a potholder or trivet. Measures 6in/15cm in diameter. Dishwasher safe. Review: Did not work as advertised for me but I found a great use for it! - So my hands are rather weak, and this is too stiff for me to wrap around a lid. However, I have granite counter tops that are slippery, and this silicone jar opener works great underneath glass bowls to keep them from slipping as I cook or toss a salad. Also, I place the jar opener under items on my dinner tray to keep them from sliding. A very useful purchase!! Review: Very handy! - Very handy jar opener! Works great!

Excellent purchase
I wear a size 7 1/2 leather glove. This is the perfect width to securely place my hand around a jar lid. The grip is excellent. I would recommend this product for the grip of the silicone.

Works OK but not great
A little too big. One side is flat and slick and useless. The other side has ridges, but they are too large and far apart and thick to help open jars. My husband says the thinner jar openers work better. Relatives gave us smaller, thinner ones, but the rough part isn't nearly big enough. Will keep looking.

Makes opening multiple jars, tins, other products easy.
Hallelujah! Now I can open EVERYTHING without frustration. Jars and tins: no longer my enemy.

REALLY WORKS GREAT GRIP
THESE REALLY WORK!! THEY GRIP AND ALLOW YOU TO TURN THE CAP ON THE JAR WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. ONLY THING IS THEY ARE NOT VERY BIG AROUND, SO YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THEM ON LARGE JARS 5 INCHES OR MORE ACROSS.

Not as good as I had hoped
I already had a nifty rubber lid opener. I wanted another to be able to hold one to a canning jar while I also hold one to the lid. (The lids in question are the plastic with a silicone seal type, used for storage, not canning. PS, they are GREAT! They *really* seal! lol) My already existing lid grabber is a nice thin, but not too thin, rubber (I assume). It has lasted for years. I wanted that one again since it works so well. I bought it in a store and have been unable to find them again. I thought it was this same gripper, so I bought this one from Norpro, (1) not realizing it was silicone, not rubber, (as I had been looking at so many lol), and (2) not realizing how much thicker it is than the one I have already. So far it does not seem nearly as useful as the other one. It seems too thick to get a great grip on lids or jars, even with the nifty tread on it. When this Norpro one used on the jar, if the jar is cold from the fridge, it doesn't grip the jar well, just sliding in your hands. But it is too thick to easily use on the lid instead. It isn't much better with room temp jars. I have had a better time just keeping those thick asparagus rubber bands on the jars and holding the jar between my legs and hoping I don't spill or drop the jar as I use my old gripper on the lid. I was hoping for a more useful fix when I bought this gripper, to replace my rubber band method, as I am going to eventually drop a jar this way, I am sure. I am hoping that this gripper just has a bit of a learning curve on grip, as silly as that seems for a jar gripper! Wouldn't buy this again, and would have bought the off brand, multi pack, thinner ones here on Amazon.
