Nice, and it's metal, not plastic
These arrow fletching devices require a bit of a learning curve and this one is no exception. You must clamp or screw the device onto a base or board before it can be used. Next, it's important to strip off all of the old fletching (unnecessary if you are using new shafts of course) and all glue residue. There are special curved blades for this purpose, but I carefully used a NEW xacto blade (try not to scrape into the arrow shaft) and used 91% isopropyl alcohol to remove old glue residue. You can buy glue that claims it is specialized for fletching, but really it's just regular super glue (liquid not gel.) I always buy that glue at big box stores like WM or HMDEP since you are less likely to buy old glue with those store's fast turnaround. Most arrows have three fletches (feathers.) You must calibrate this device before gluing. Start by placing an arrow in the device, making sure the arrow notch is secure in the brass notch of the device. I also use a rubber band to secure the arrow shaft in the upper notch of the device as it seemed to not always lay securely in the notch. Locate the straight indicator line on the arrow's notch. This line indicates where the first fletch will be glued on the shaft (it's the fletch that faces away from the bow at a 90 degree angle.) Next line up the line on the arrow notch with the clamp that will hold the fletch when gluing. Then loosen the hex nut at the bottom of the rotating knob on the device, then lock it down. Your device should then be ready to fletch. Test it by turning the knob. It should click into place on three equal increments, to match the number of fletches. Place a fletch in the clamp and measure the correct distance from the nock. The fletch should be evenly in contact with the arrow shaft. Next, simply run a small bead of liquid (not gel) super glue along the base of the fletch. The liquid glue will find its way under the fletch. Use a Q-tip to catch residual glue. Then wait a good 5 minutes for each fletch before moving to the next position. After using this device, it is readily apparent that it is essential (for your sanity) to quickly and accurately fletch an arrow. Much cheaper than buying new arrows. Highly recommended.

Good value
Does everything you could want in a fletching jig . Have been a traditional bow hunter for years and make my own arrows. Have used the. ( 100 $ ) version and glad i got this. one. and saved enough. to buy 2 doz. cedar shafts

does a good job
[Disclaimer: I have not previously used a fletching jig]. With a small amount of experimentation, I found this jig produces good results on the offset vanes I was replacing. The 120 degree separations appear to be accurate for a 3-fletch placement. The magnetic force holding the clamp is adequate. The construction is sturdy; the finish on the metal surfaces is smooth, and I see no indiction it will rust or break. I am a recreational target shooter. For my purposes, I don't see what more I would expect of a jig at any price. For the price, I think this is a 5.
