So Much Fun Watching Her Play!
My 11+ year old, 8 pound, cat loves this toy. She chases the butterflies around and catches them. When she gets tired of doing that, she stretches out next to the base and swats at them as they come around, or she'll lay on her back and swat them overhead. Unfortunately (reason for only 3 stars) she has managed to break one wing off the yellow and bent the red, in only 10 days. It still works, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it. The living room floor is covered with brown packing paper she uses as a bluff. Although she doesn't tire of playing with it, I can't afford to buy butterfly replacements every 10 days, especially as the price has gone way up.UPDATE: Well, the wings are gone from both butterflies, but I tied a short strip of plastic Christmas ribbon to each bug and she's just as happy. I first thought of colored knitting yarn, but if she got those off and swallowed, it would wreak havoc with her gut. Never give cats string or yarn to play with. If it gets caught in the gut, it can go so far as to kill them. Anyway, I'm changing to 5 stars even though the fix was my idea.

LOVE this toy!
The media could not be loaded. My cat absolutely LOVES this toy! He wants to play with it all the time. It is well made and very quiet when turned on. Perfect gift for any cat lover!

Great fun but not for long!
This toy tips over too easily due to the very small sized base. After I attached the base to a sturdy piece of cardboard that solved the problem and this toy was amazing. My cat loves it. And it's silent, which I love. The biggest downside to this toy is that my cat separates the butterfly from the wire within seconds. And purchasing replacement butterfly attachments costs the same as buying a whole new toy which is ridiculous. If the butterflies were sturdier and held out a bit longer I would have given this five stars.

two butterflies are pointless if one breaks off every time
i bought this a few times, because i apparently don’t learn my lesson, but i kept assuming it was a fluke. it wasn’t. the issue to which i’m referring? one of the butterflies is clipped on to the wire of the other with THE flimsiest little chunk of plastic i’ve ever seen in my life. so, every single time, the second butterfly would just break off before i even for the damn top on the toy. you can’t really do anything with it after that, unless you’re about you weld the things together. pointless. waste of money. stick to the one butterfly topper, or just skip this toy entirely, because although the cats enjoy it, it’s an absolute money-suck when it’s so flimsy.

My cat always seem happier chasing string and rubber bands
I don't buy a lot of cat toys. My cat always seem happier chasing string and rubber bands. After reading the reviews, I decided to try this whirling wiggler toy. One of my cats is obsessed with it! She was quite scared at first but once she got used to it, she can't leave it alone. Those butterflies buzzing around get her attention every time. This is not a young cat mind you. She is over 8 years old and not especially playful so I was surprised. Now, our 12-year-old cat? She just watches it but doesn't try to play with it. Granted, she's more mellow than her sister so her reaction was as expected.

It spins so fast it is intimidating to my cat. I wish there was a speed adjustment option.
The media could not be loaded. This is not a toy for timid cats. It spins really fast and intimidates my fairly confident cat. He will play with it, but it seems to make him more agitated than happy. I would have paid extra for the ability to adjust the speed from slow to fast.I have noticed that if I put the toy out in the middle of the room by itself, my cat will not approach the toy. However, if I put a crumpled paper barrier near the toy that my cat can hide behind and approach when he feels confident that it is not going to harm him, my cat will occasionally pounce on the whirly toy.

The cats love it! My cats tip it over too easy so I would recommend that the base be secured to a heavier & wider base. Thank you

Seems fragile, but it's NOT
Even though this item seems extremely fragile, my cat has knocked it off tables many times, and it is just because this item is so "flexible" and light that it doesn't suffer any damage. My only concern is because the butterflies move around in a circle SO fast that it is more disconcerting to kitty, so I would suggest a longer wire for the butterflies, say, another six inches, so they slow down a bit. Otherwise, this item is extremely cool for kitty.

Spinner
A hit. Tips over but then I have to admit the kitty caught the butterfly and carried the whole thing to his little house. Very funny to see. Base needs to either be broader or heavier?

Cats enjoy it, but wish it was a BIT slower
We've had other toys similar to this that eventually broke, so we wanted to buy a new one. The cats are entertained by it, but I do wish the butterflies were a bit slower (you can adjust the speed a bit by sliding the lower butterfly up and down, but it's still pretty fast). Still happy we bought it!

Ok, loud and noisy
Like the other reviews say, it is sturdy il unlike what it may look like at first. Our cat isn’t too thrilled about but she likes watching it. It is also loud and noisy, so if u have a scaredy-cat this is not for u

Finally a study spinning butterfly toy!
I bought another similar toy from another brand and seller before and it fell appart within 24hrs. This one is STUDY! The only reason I'm leaving 4 stars is because it's quite noisy and scares my cat a bit. I had to remove one butterfly to make it less noisy & more appealing. Also, the brown base is great coz if you fold it, it can stay placed on top of a scratching post (you can easily fix it with tape or something else if you cat makes it fall over.) My cat prefers playing with it when it's higher.
