These Are A Fantastic Addition To Any Pack
Yo-Yo traps are the coolest addition you can have in your hiking/camping pack for acquiring meat while out in the wild. A very nice trap that you can set and forget while you take care of camp chores and come back to meal waiting for you to prepare. These work very well for smaller sized fish like sunfishes or perch. Over time I can see the string part of the trap wearing out but it is a part that can easily be replaced. These traps are as reliable and convenient as they are light weight and easy to carry. I usually take 3 of them with me but only set up 2 if I plan to fish with a rod and reel due to my states regulations. I have not tried them out for trapping anything else but I have seen videos showing them being used as snares and bird traps.

YO YO Fish trap
These are illegal in AZ for fishing, but I haven't found out yet if they are legal for taking small game. I would still use them for a survival situation anyway. They are easy to set up and trip very easily but they don't seem to have a lot of power. If they are used properly they would catch a small fish, enough to feed you but I would add more power to them for game. Something like a bent tree branch that adds power when they are tripped. Price is right and they were shipped very quickly.

Perfect for your fishing adventure
I bought this and wanted to try it out, and to my surprise it works amazing! This thing does catch fish as well at turtles! It takes a little bit of time to set up and I wish there was a bigger hole to tie it down somewhere else, but hands down it’s amazing and work! Perfect to keep in a bug out bag for survival or as a back up for fishing. Worth the money and fun!

Not as advertised
Overall, I see these as a well-built American made product...but I received the "older" style with the spring trigger, and not the "more sensitive" flat trigger as advertised...not that I care. They are going in my Bug Out bag and if I ever use them I will have bigger problems to worry about. While I'm here I might as well throw this out there; I believe the reel is rust resistant aluminum which is good. If the cord is indeed nylon, it is undoubtedly at least 60 lbs. test. Just know that the cord is twisted and not braided like ice fishing line so its not as easy to work with but they do heat-seal the ends so that they will not untwist. Buy them and hope to God you never have to use them. At least you will be keeping some guy in Ash Grove Missouri working and supporting his family.

More than I expected.
I am not sure why I thought these were going to be smaller, but I expected it to be maybe a little smaller than half the size that it is. They are about 2 1/2 - 3 inches with a heavy gauge metal, The line is a cotton twist that will need to be watched for wear and tear. The literature that came with the device advised that I "check your local regulations before using this device." Not being a fisher, I am not sure why, but I will check.I got this to go in my side bag but it will have to go into my bug out bag. I think it will be great for this, even if it is bigger than I initially thought. I am well pleased

Set, forget, catch fish, have dinner
Drop a line from the stern of your boat, kick back with a good book, and wait to hear the telltale zzz-zzz-zzz of the reel engaging and pulling up your dinner. What could be better? I would like to find a larger version for deeper water trolling, but these are great for trolling when we're sailing through coastal waters.Note: make sure these are legal where you plan to use them-- many states ban mechanical yoyo reels. I only use these for catching fish to eat. There is literally no sport to catching fish with these so it would make zero sense to use them for catch and release.

Works real good!
Ok, I finally got the chance to try this produce yesterday..oh my..lol.It works. Just like it says! I set my yo yo up attached to a good branch, set my line and sat back to read while waiting, where was I sitting? We'll about a yard away and below to the right. We'll it works so good that iT sprung when fish took my bait and flew out of water with the fish smacking me right in the shoulder...lmao I was laughing so hard for my own mistake ... But hey it works great!
