Q: What are the differences between the Oreck Commercial BB900DGR XL Pro 5 Super Compact Canister Vacuum and the Oreck Super Deluxe Compact Cansister vac

I called Oreck Commercial and they told me one difference is the length of warranty coverage. The commercial version comes with a 1 year limited warrant while the consumer version comes with a 3 limited year warranty.

Q: What is the noise level? Being commercial is it almost as loud as shop vacuums or pretty much same as the retailer sold home models?

My cats didn't run when I turned it on! Compared to a less powerful handheld 18v shop vac, or ANY shop vac, it is VERY quiet. It does not have the high pitch scream frequency that some vacs have. The sound is slightly muffled, and at a comfortable lower pitch. I was very pleasantly surprised.

Q: what is the difference from this unit and the Oreck Buster Bee (Oreck XL)

Not much, they are both as powerful, but the commercial one has a very long cord and it is heavier duty. Other than that I have one of each and they seem to be pretty much the same

I guess they're both supposed to pick up a bowling ball, but my commercial unit sure wouldn't be able to. They must have some special attachment that they use in the commercial. If you want really good suction, go to Home Depot and get a wet/dry vacuum. They are loud, but they have the BEST suction for corners, baseboards, and dog hair. I have been quite disappointed with the Oreck and have gone back to using my wet/dry vacuum.
