Very sharp and are quite strong.

I’ve been using these hooks at the pay lakes and I must admit I really like them. I’ve caught plenty of common carp, small and large mouth buffalo on them. They stay sharp and I haven’t had one straighten out on me yet. I like the offset on the hook and the upward eye. I believe it helps with hook set. They stay sharp for SEVERAL fishing trips. I will be buying more in the near future!

Bought these in size 2, 4, and 6. (250 hooks!) Use for finesse bass fishing for small smallmouth. They seem to hold as well as any other hook, and seem sharp enough. I smash the barbs for all my fishing (it’s safer for both fish and angler and can improve the hook set as well). In the photos they look identical to Gamakatsu hooks, but they are not. I find this to be deceptive advertising. My second (related) complaint is that the way these barbs are cut is old school, creating a thick barb that doesn’t really punch down all the way. Would probably not buy again.

Bought for tying Alaska salmon flies but well over half were not sharp and had to file them. The steel seemed well tempered but had a half dozen mis-shaped hooks I threw away.
