Chinet quality of course in square plate. Perfect!
So I was looking for square disposible plates for my wedding reception guests. I know I needed a hefty quality paper plate( we served blackened chicken breast with a saffron sauce, spanish rice, cesear salad, and homemade mac and cheese, not that it matter but points out that I needed a decent paper plate, lol) but I didn't want to buy the hard plastic plates because I didn't want to have to pack them all up again and tote them home. And I couldn't justify throwing away the hard plastic plates. I spent a couple days searching different sites. I determined that I wanted to order a square paper plate for the wedding. But I also knew I needed a quality plate not the cheap flimsy dollar store type plates. I searched some more online, and found several different square paper plates but from brands I had never heard of and all of them had mixed reviews. Then I literally accidentally found these Chinet square dinner plates during an online search one night. I scooped them up immediately! The quantity was WAY more than I actually needed for the wedding but that's okay. We use them every now and then when I don't feel like washing plates.I knew Chinet's quality in paper plates. These absolutely did not disappoint. Chinet quality and in a square dinner plate. These held all the food served with no problem at the wedding. They didn't bend at all. No leaking or soaking thru. I was able to hold the plate in one hand full of food and my drink in my other hand while in a wedding dress and maneuver around without fear of the food falling off the plate onto the ground or worse my dress. Keep these plates around Chinet, and thank you!!!

Keep it classy!
I bought these as I wanted somethin compostable, but not brown. These are very sturdy and work well for spaghetti dinners, heavy mashed potatoes, heating up bacon in the microwave, absorbing grease from meat dishes, and you can feel better knowing that they will biodegrade quicker than the average paper plate. The square design is also slightly more classy...which is important when you are using paper plates. Keep it classy!

Sturdy and durable (and you don't have to wash plates)!
These plates are amazing! Used them for Thanksgiving and they are very sturdy. I grew up with Chinet for our Thanksgiving dinner and having the square plates adds some class. Less dishes to wash and they can hold a heaping plate of food. I will keep these in stock at my home for those nights I do not want to wash dishes!

Square plates
As always the Chinet quality was evident, but this square design gave a more formal look to disposable goods. The plates were heavy enough they did not bucckle under the wieght of food for those who chose to stand rather than use a table. The plates had enough surface area I did not need the smaller plates I purchased for salad.

like this product - wish that Chinet offered a white bowl to match in square shape (I have seen other brands with sq bowl)
a pleasing, relatively new look for handy Chinet - it is sturdy just like what we expect from Chinet -- best of all it is easy to pack in a camping box (or boating box), rv etc - because the square shape does not waste space like the round plates. Thankfully they have not put the cheesy old blue flowers on this item. (think back several years - round Chinet - blue flowers on the rim - that's all we can get out here in BC Canada STILL ! So i have to order from American Amazon.) Sometimes USA Safeway has this product - but just as handy to get from Amazon. I wish they offered a square white paper bowl to match. There is already the dinner size plate, the dessert size plate - now we need the bowl. (will not buy plastic plates etc - and also hope one day they make some recycled content products)

Always buy them
I love these dinner and dessert plates. They are the only ones I have been using for years ! Very very disappointed these were the last ones I could buy. Seems they have been discontinued ! Please bring them back !

Good, but not great
Why the mediocre review... I'll post a few pros/cons...Pros- Square size is great, because it maximizes the amount of space that you can put food.- Plate is thick enough to carry heavy foods- Price for 135 ct was also goodCons- If you leave any wet food on the plate long enough, it starts to warp and get soggy, and eventually loses it's effectiveness in holding any type of weight.I purchased these for my family's thanksgiving dinner, and it had been a while since I used Chinet plates, as I usually either use the plastic (Solo brand) or the cheap supermarket cardboard brand plates, with that slick film/plastic? coating. I figured that Chinet would be a great step up, but then I noticed, that after say... 10-15 minutes of eating, everyone's plates started to deform ON the table. It looked like when you wet cardboard and let it dry. Then as people lifted their plates to get second helpings, they had but no choice but to use both hand, and ask someone else to spoon food onto their plate.A first world problem for sure, but I was a bit disappointed with the performance of these plates.
