### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great to add fan and lights to single pole switch setup.

This has great flexibility and function. What was not clear at first to me was that you can setup this switch without having it actually being hardwired to the light you are controlling. For example, you install it in the gang with power connected, but not connecting the line wires. Using the hub, you can program smart devices, such as insteon bulbs (INSTEON 2672-292 LED Bulb) and insteon fanlink (Insteon 2475F FanLinc). This way, you can control several lights and fan where there was only one switch.An example of this: I had 3 hanging pendant lights in living room all on same switch. I wanted to replace center with a fan. There was not room to rewire. By installing this 2334 insteon switch (connected to power and ground, but not line wire), all three devices (2 lights with insteon bulbs, and fan with fanlink) had power. By programming the hub and 2334, you have a switch (and app) that can control the fan and lights independently. I have it programmed to have lights on / off or dimmed up or down with the main on/off buttons, the fan is controlled by the remaining 4 buttons. By adding the fan button kit (INSTEON 2322-382 FanLinc Button Kit for KeypadLinc), the install is very clean and professional looking. Works great and no need to have extra remote for fan control.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Product, but Hardware Reliability Needs Improvement

I have considerable experience with Insteon with a 30+ component system. The basic features of Insteon are unbeatable and this Keypad dimmer works very well. I have 5 of them. The Insteon Dual Band Hub really rounds out a completely integrated home automation system with full WiFi and Internet capability. Although the features, functionality, and stability of Insteon are excellent; the hardware reliability needs improvement. This Keypad was purchased to replace one that failed. I have had a about a 15% failure rate over about a three year period. I am concerned that the older ones are beginning to fail. In my experience; length of service, frequency of use, and applied load seem to influence the failure rate. I am sure that other home automation systems have failures also, and I would recommend this and other Insteon components.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works but not for the faint of heart

This is the first Keypadlinc I've had to replace in about four years. I have over 60 Insteon switches and other products for my whole house automation. I use Indigo as the controller which is Mac based software. You have to realize this is DIY home automation and isn't simple plug and play. It takes time to set up scenes and automation. But once set up Insteon is pretty reliable. I've had to replace probably 5 of the switches over the years and have the same 2413u controller since day one. The picture is a screen shot of the customized control screen for my system. This takes time and effort but crestron quoted me over 30k for my whole house LIGHT automation. I'd estimate the insteon install in total was 5k and includes my garage, HVAC and motion sensors. I highly suggest using a computer/Mac based automation software package instead of an insteon hub to control everything as setup is demonstrably easier but still takes time and effort.
