I ended up returning this product - not sure if I received a defective unit or not.***NOTE*** When you connect this product to your iPhone - you are warned..... This product is not certified by Apple and may not work correctly. Guess what - they were apparently right.First of all the audio clarity was horrible - I tried every open frequency in the FM range and could not get a signal that was not wrought with static.Second, the unit had to be completely disconnected each time I wanted to use it - forget leaving the lighter plugged in and just hooking up your phone.And Third, the most troubling for me - I started off a 30 minute drive with a fully charged phone and connected it, to the lightning cable and the audio jack, made sure that the only app that was running on my phone was Pandora and by the time I reached my destination my phone had been completely drained. It was almost as if the phone's battery was powering the FM transmitter rather than the power receptacle in the car.

Love this thing for my car which doesn’t have a fancy radio system with an aux input or Bluetooth. Now I can play my music from my phone with ease. It does seem to have an expiration date because after a while it tends to short and not connect right.

So I was a little skeptical at first about buying this bc of all the other negative reviews. But when I considered what I needed (an adaptor that works with my bulky phone cover, and iPhone 5, and charges, and doesn't require it's own batteries), and for this price, I decided to take a risk and try it. And I like it.I can't say it works FANTASTIC, but it works!!!I played with it a bit and here is what I learned.First, try to get the frequency to a radio station that isn't currently being used in your area. In my case that was 88.1FM.Next, my cigarette jack is quite low, about knee level or a little lower. So when I left the transmitter hanging out low, it was kinda statiky. But then I found a way to clip the wire to my mirror, and when I did that, the static went away! I was able to hear the transmission nice and clear. So I guess, when you position the transmitter LOW, your other car parts plastic/metal get in the way, but when you hang it up HIGHER so there is less interference, you can hear it just fine!Third, I did try the USB port on the back of the charger. I'm happy it has that bc sometimes I do need to use my cigarette port to charge stuff, and it works fine too.Obviously, you can't expect a perfect product from something that cost about $14. But for my needs, it fits me just fine.

Static sometimes, did it job for the money.

Seller service was amazing but generally most FM transmitters are lacking and my girlfriend eventually bought a car with bluetooth. Therefore 5 stars seller service and 3 stars for all fm transmitters.

Just have to find the right channel for it and it will work wonderful.

I've gotten two, and it breaks after a while. Not worth buying
