Baieido Incense Sticks Zankouhi (Black Coffee) Black (Black Box)

I'm new to Japanese incense. I tried Baieido's "Tokusen Kobunboku" and even though I enjoyed the scent the low amount of smoke it put out was still enough to aggravate my very sensitive skin.This "modern incense" line from Baieido burns smokeless and doesn't cause me any problems. I use it to help me focus. The scent isn't too strong and wafts in and out of consciousness while I work, a quality that more experienced connoisseurs might call "meditative". The smell is more like instant coffee than the freshly brewed coffee we're accustomed to here in the States — it's a sharp, bitter, and dry scent. It burns in about 25 minutes and the scent diminishes significantly afterwards. Naturally since I'm not fond of instant coffee I'm also not too fond of the scent, but I don't hate it either. I'll be trying the other modern Baieido incenses to see if I like those better. There's a "coffee latte" variety too but I don't expect that to smell familiar either.Before learning about incenses I used to melt scented wax. After several years of buying around I still haven't found a wax that is good, cheap, and commonly available. $20 of wax melts barely lasted me a month and a half. For $20 this package of incense which contains several hundred sticks will easily last me 6-12 months. Despite the added cost of shipping from Japan this is the cheapest way for me to get my nose involved in my focusing ritual.

Meh….No coffee smell but if you want smokeless then go for it and it’s good quality but I purchased because I wanted the coffee smell.

Do ya like the smell of instant coffee!? Do you dislike smoke!?? This is the incense for you! It is a little bit expensive for what it is but acceptable. I really enjoy this incense!

Has a bit of a plum blossom note to it, but definitely smells like coffee.

This black coffee incense didn’t smell anything like coffee at all, giving me unbearable smell in the air. I don’t recommend for those like smell coffee.

I like this, one of the few products I've tried that don't irritate me.

This was a waste of 13.00..so fragile and thin(think pencil lead), they break when you try to insert them in the holders.I'm throwing them out, they have no discernible scent, and certainly not coffee, if there is any to be had.

I'm a little bit of an incense addict and this is by far one of my favorites! The scent is absolutely incredible, there is barely any smoke, and it is pretty long burning for the size of the stick. I really hope this company never changes its formula for this particular scent (Black Coffee) because it is just divine! I'm in love with it (I'm on my third or fourth box). :)

コーヒーの香りはせず、ちょっと気になる変わった香りだったのでおすすめできません。普通の線香としても使いづらい香りかなと思います。
