After seeing several others use this as an insulation for their smoker, I took a shot at it and love the result. It uses half the charcoal and is only slightly warm in the outside which makes it easier and safer to work around. An alternate review title would be, “What R2-D2 would wear if he joined the Empire”.

I bought these blankets to put on top of my wood burning stove. My cat had touched the top of the stove and burned his paws. I bought 4 of these blankets and some magnets, I have them on top and sides of my wood burning stove. They get hot, but you can touch them without getting burned.

Good size, easy to manipulate and a must for close usage when you have to protect what is behind the item being soldered. Do not take chances! I see too much singed wood when I have to replace an older item.

I purchased this to use as a fireplace hearth rug, it's perfect... If you could find a heat rated backing, you could definitely market these for fireplace rugs...

These arrived just in time to be put to use. I had a tight space between floor joists and the sub floor where I needed to get some soldering done. I stapled these two carbon fiber pads to the flooring and draped them over plastic drain pipes. I'm using a Bernz-o-matic torch. This torch gets really hot very fast. While soldering I could see the edges of the pads glowing - but they never ignited. I got the soldering done and, like I said, didn't burn the house down.

I use it to give my smoker an extra insulation during the cold and windy winter days in Chicago. It is super soft an easy to handle. You can cut and form it as you need it. Because it is relatively thick, you need strong neodymium magnets to keep it fixed. I testes some left over materials under open fire for several minutes and it holds. A little glow, a little smoke but not even close to a fire. Works like a charm for my purpose!

This carbon fiber felt is idea wicking for the home made alcohol stoves that require a form of wicking. It's also good as a mat of base ( insulation ) to set anything on that will get hot. I cut a circle to set one of my camping stoves on so the heat from it would not burn a circle on anything that's wood.In the one package I got two sheets that were 1/4 inch thick and 12 x 12.

I used it to keep parts from cooling too quickly which could result in cracks in the welds. Works very well. Decent size, good price.
