Good well designed quality pedal bin with a big 55 litre capacity. Simplehuman make the liners for these bins which fit perfectly and are excellent quality as well with drawstring tie handles for ease of use. Simplehuman are not the cheapest brand but paying extra for good quality and design pays in the long term, buying cheaper brands which don’t last just adds to landfill… this model has the plastic lid, (which because it sits under a worktop was the one I wanted to fit). They also have a full stainless steel version which looks a bit nicer but is more expensive…

Looked at several other brands for nearly half the cost, and finally went ahead and purchased this 14.5 gallon receptacle. We selected the plastic lid, due to our two GSD dogs. The lid sits inside the rim and is a perfect color match and quite seamless. We like that it deters you from opening manually as well. The extra 1.5 gallons makes a huge difference in space, reducing trips and use of bags. Operates smoothly, does not obstruct our space, and is quite nice looking. Great quality! Love a smart purchase!

I do not normally respond with a review but this time is an exception because because I received a defective product. Trash can arrived very fast and looked pretty good. Unfortunately it had been poorly assembled. The lower left hand clip was not fully seated and the problem others have described about the plastic inner frame coming loose and snagging the bag would have been an issue. Owing to the design it would not just clip back in. I ended up disassembling the cover assembly and after several tries was finally able to assemble it properly. Not sure how long my fix will hold up because the clip design is very flimsy. Simplehuman should have designed a better connection with screws to begin with or at least had better quality control so they would not be sending a defective product. If you are not a DYIer I would avoid this product and any of the others with the interior bag dispenser.
