Acrylic Data Highlight Reading Ruler with Tinted Guide, 15" Clear

I have been borrowing this from my friend often and finally got my own. I use it to help with crop insurance but I bet there are all kinds of crafty uses too-- like cutting with a rotary cutter.

My introduction to this highlighting ruler came when I was in the legislature and working on the markup books for appropriations bills. Within those books, there were a lot of little lines with a lot of big numbers. When I would place the highlighted strip on the ruler over the line of numbers, it really made that individual line stand out from the rest of the lines on the page. It made working with these documents so much easier and less confusing.My days in the legislature are long gone, but this ruler has become a permanent addition to supplies in my office since then.If you are someone who places a ruler underneath lines of text or numbers to keep them straight, this ruler offers a vastly superior way of doing the same thing. With this ruler, you can see all the lines on the page, but only the line you have highlighted stands out. This makes moving the ruler to the next line you want highlighted much easier to do.If well taken care of, this ruler will also last you for decades of service. I know a couple of mine have done just that.

As other reviewers mentioned they wished the 0 mark started at the end of the ruler for accuracy measuring lengths ending against a solid object. I was able to solve this by cutting the ruler in half with a scissors and making a 9" and 6" ruler. I don't use the 6" one. Wear eye protection.

I bought this in 2021 and paid only $2.99 which was a great buy. It's a nice weight. I use it for reviewing statements, etc. It's also great for crafts. Decided I wanted a second one for in my hobby shop and now price is $5.69. This is nuts.

This product is a perfect ruler for an accountant or bookkeeper!!! The highlighted section in the middle of the ruler is perfect for lining up documents that you need to read!
