The part arrived quickly and I installed it the day of its arrival. Much more economical to change the ballast than to buy a new light fixture.

This ballast helped renew our fixture

The ballast arrived with bent tabs, and was able to bend them back. It was used to replace a KTEB-432RIS-1-TP. To make life easier, cut the old wires and connected the new wires to them with wing nuts, as opposed to messing with the wires at the terminals. Currently using it with 4 Philips universal fit led bulbs, 16T8/LED/48-850/uf18/g. All good so far.

This product is a replacement of existing ballast, model KTEB-432RIS-1-TP (it did not have SL), but the one I used is ending with SL. In a different review, it is mentioned that SL is for the Slim profile. No issues in installing, however, I see the wires are coming out from the ballast differently than my existing model. The main power wires (black and white) are from one side and remaining (Yellow, Red, and Blue) all come out from other side, but they need to be connected to different ends in the fixture (Yellow on one end and Red/Blue on other end). The Yellow wires were barely sufficient and needed a sharp pull in another direction where it needed to be connected. The Red and Blue wires are more than sufficient.Overall the product is working well for the past one week and I expect it to work for a long time.

Easy to install. Works with no issues. Only slight change I would make would be having the wires that go to the opposite ends of the bulbs being in the other side of the item so the wires didn’t need to wrap around it.

(I would be giving this item five stars except for the fact that the item being replaced was the same model from the same manufacturer and it failed within 4 years)I never had a ballast fail before. After our kitchen light fixture would not turn on, the light switch, bulbs and wiring were all checked and found to be operational. There was nothing else left that could have been the culprit. I expected a new ballast to be hard to find and expensive, so I just bought and installed a new fixture. When a friend suggested that I search amazon for the model number printed on the ballast, I did just that. This ballast cost 1/6 of the price of a new fixture, so I ordered it, installed it, and tested the light. The ballast was indeed the culprit, and I now have a spare working light fixture.TIP: Since I had installed a new light fixture already, I got to install the new ballast with the fixture not mounted on the ceiling. Because of this experience, I would suggest taking the light fixture down to install a new ballast, as it would have been difficult to install with the light fixture still on the ceiling.
