Continental Electric CE23451 4-Slice Toaster, White

I had just "deep-sixed" a fairly sophisticated 4-slice toaster, because one of the levers wouldn't stay down and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. It seems to me that across the years this is one small electrical appliance that really hasn't advanced that much. It still consists, basically, of a single or double set of flimsy electric coils encased in a variety of housings with a variety of "bells and whistles". Anyway, I decided that this time I would buy an inexpensive model, and simply bite the bullet and buy an other one as/when it gave up the ghost. So far this toaster has worked pretty much as I expected i.e. it tends to toast unevenly, and if the bread/English muffin, whatever, is doughy or moist, you will (not unreasonably) have to give it a couple of shots, even on the highest setting. All this said, I got what I paid for and I am satisfied with my purchase.

Nothing too fancy. It gets the job done. My bread is toasted and I am satisfied. Nothing too fantastic or too bad about it.

I bought this for my work in our lunch room. the first few times it smelled like plastic in our lunch room, but now its fading after a few months. the food never tasted like plastic.

Arrived quickly in good shape and toasts like it's supposed to.

Great toaster for the price.... Worth the purchase.

If all you're hoping to do is toast bread, bagels or waffles, then perhaps this might suit your needs. I bought it for the sole purpose of toasting pop tarts and this is probably the worst toaster for pop tarts. The part that holds up the food being toasted is too narrow and the pop tarts almost always slip and get stuck in the toaster. Not recommended!

Do not under any circumstances purchase this toaster, the sides get HOT and will burn unsuspecting hands and fingers. Just thrown mine in the trash.
