Bought for my nieces first birthday and she loves playing with it. Few animal noises to entertain her and a play back feature to listen tot he noises she's made.You do have to hit the keys around the centre otherwise it won't make a sound and with the keys being fairly large she does end up just waving her arms over them but she still enjoys it.Material seems pretty sturdy and looks as if it can take being crumpled and folded multiple times.

I didn’t really expect this to be as big a hit with the grandchildren as it is. They love it, 2 and 3 years old. It is robust and does what it says. You can play the tunes with the animal sounds which is funny. I’m very pleased with it. Just goes to show we shouldn’t judge toys from an adult perspective.

The media could not be loaded.  This is a fun musical mat that is easy to use, from piano, to animal voices, to playing some tunes on its own. It can even play back your tune if you press record, which will delight kids.The mat comes folded up in a box with a small sheet of instructions in different languages; all you need are 3 AA batteries (not included) and a mini screwdriver to open the back (not included). I wish the instructions explained more, like how you can switch between the different modes and what it does, but it's clear enough that you can decrease or increase the volume at the top, where the record and playback buttons are, where the switch buttons are, and the keys. The entire surface is a nice bright polyester material that feels strong and firm and easy to wash. The back of the musical mat is slightly textured red polyester material. I didn't have any trouble with it sliding on my laminate floor but it would be nice if it was even more not skid.This musical mat is SO fun to use. You can tap out some tunes using your feet or hands, and if you press record first, then playback when you're done, it will play it back to you in the piano keys, animal voices, or a mixture of both (just press the switch button each time). It can delight kids and inspire creativity to have their mini song played back to them, and it will bring laughter when you turn the piano keys into animal sounds or a mixture of both.You can switch between musical notes and animal sounds using the switch button even as you play, and you can also have it play songs for you. There is a different pre-recorded song on each key, many of which kids will know. And you can also switch back to playing songs on your own.Kids will have a lot of fun making up their own music and hearing it be played back both with the piano and the animal sounds--that is creative and fun--and may also enjoy having familiar children's songs played for them. It might also inspire them to try and play music more.This musical mat can be so entertaining, especially with the kids being able to make and play their own tunes with piano or animal noises and have it be played back to them. This Piano Mat is made of quality materials. It features a waterproof, nontoxic mat, with 8 basic piano keys, 8 animal sounds, 8 nursery rhymes, record and playback functions, volume control, LED lights and auto shut off feature.This piano mat is really cute. It has bright beautiful colours and sweet child friendly graphics.The material is soft and good for playing on, crawling or walking. I really like that it doesn't have a big plastic panel like others do, so I don't have to worry about that.NOTE: Please keep in mind that the mat doesn't have grip on the bottom, so it will slide around on the floor during use. It works better on carpet or grass.The mat is waterproof and wipes off easily. It can be used indoors or outdoors.The mat is much smaller than it looked in the photos, so I was a little surprised when I opened it. You do need to make sure you have a good supply of AA batteries, it does use 3 at a time and they aren't included. That said, the auto shut off is a nice way to save on batteries when the mat is not in use.The animal sounds are really cute and my baby and toddlers love it. They have a lot of fun making music, by playing on the music notes.This would make a nice gift for a special little person in your life.I recommend this product.

The soft mat does not come with batteries or screwdriver to open the plastic box and it takes 3 AA type batteries. It has animals painted above a piano with record and playback function buttons and +/- volume dials. The mat has many options for play from notes to animal noises to different tunes in switch mode (4 sets of options - notes as animal sounds depending on animal selected, common kids melodies like ABCs or Old McDonald had a farm, and a second set of melodies perhaps less common, finally piano in a specific tune like twinkle twinkle little star). This gives 5 sets of options in total for piano play. The colours are vibrant, the pictures well made and the sounds correspond to the pictures drawn. Also the sounds are realistic to the animal type except for the rooster which sounds like a "finch" bird.The record function only works for piano notes and not animal noises, or any of the options you get during "switch" mode. If you compose a short tune it will record and play it back, it doesn't record animal sounds or voice recordings, because it doesn't have a microphone and instead it has a memory that plays back a short sequence. It will, however, play back the last tune countless times without re-recording.The mat goes into sleep mode after approx. 2 minutes (timed it), and plays a little song letting you know it is powering down. If you press the on/off switch you activate the mat again.Made of non-permeable material that is easy to clean (but not machine washable due to the plastic battery casing and general electronics inside the mat), easy to roll up and store. Baby friendly, the box suggests 12 months plus, but I think this mat would be a great addition as soon as the child begins to walk which can be as early as 9 months. The recording option makes this an interesting toy for up to 2 years old. Bonus points if you have pets and get them to walk across a mat and record a tune.

I ordered this play piano mat for my Granddaughter to use when she comes to visit. We had the opportunity to try it out this weekend and she had a blast! The mat can do various tunes, her own music, animal sounds, record and playback tunes she has created and has buttons to control the volume. It has an automatic shut off so that it doesn't waste battery power. Both of us enjoyed creating music and singing to the pre-programmed tunes. My granddaughter is 5 and she was able to figure it all out very quickly and was entertained for hours. I like the volume control so that I could turn it down if it was too loud and she could still play with it. So many toys with sound are way to loud and get on the nerves of the adults in the area, but this one didn't since I could turn it down. She was good and didn't turn it back up, so we both enjoyed it.The mat is made of a plastic type product so is easy to clean and folds up easily to return to the box for storage. It was easy to put back into the box and was not a struggle as so many things are once you remove them from the box.
