Nice casting distance
I'm down at the Florida beach and took my Penn V5500 out for some casting. The owner at the bait shop has the very same reel. I put 20 lb braided line on it and I am surprised and very pleased with my casting distance. I am not super tall, 5' 3" nor super skilled, but with this reel and a good quality 9 ft surf rod I actually have to make sure I follow the cast because it goes farther than I could have imagined. Caught a few small fish in not so great conditions. Today is too windy but I'm down here for a few weeks and am right on the beach, so will have plenty of opportunity to play more with my new favorite toy. Thanks Penn
