Does it turn on and off automatically when the receiver is off?

It turns on and off as needed. If you turn off the receiver and the AIRCOM S6 is on, it will turn off when it finish cooling off the receiver by it self.

My cabinet has a closed back and glass front doors. Will one of these models work for me if I keep the front glass doors closed at all times?

If the back is closed how do you get the wires to your units? I have a cabinet like that, and it has openings for cables. I keep the doors closed and it works. Hope this helps you.

Is this really 240 v as it states in the description? this would be unusual for a usa product.

Mine is 110. I didn't notice the 240v in the description. It works very well and I'm really happy with it
