This is a wonderful well planed paper model with clear instructions
This is a wonderful well planed paper model with clear instructions, quality paper stock and reasonably good color rendering. Fun project w/ minimal supplies and work space needed.. The results are quite outstanding. I just ordered one for a friend who is into paper modeling, and thinking about doing another one myself for the enjoyment of it. I really wish they had more of the same ilk available. I would really like to see all Wright's structures represented by this company. The scale is HO so it results in a fairly large model which I augmented w/ some HO accoutrements.

So worth the work! Like having a Wright home in your own home!
This is a very rewarding project for any Frank Lloyd Wright enthusiest. I took my time building the home, being very carefull because the little details add up when your done. Make sure you have a good exacto knife, and figure out a way of scoring the paper that works for you. Having good scored folds is very important to making the overall look clean and not "bent". I did not glue every piece down while I went along,I just glued them together and it worked just fine,I will glue the entire home down at one time. I did run into a few very minor printing errors, but did not expierence the problem with piece 57 as stated before. Everything really goes smooth when you have a good technique, the stairs are still pretty tricky though lol!! Now time for plants and painting!!

Looks like fun!
I bought this because I am a big FLW fanatic, and have just about every book written about him. I really want the Lego model of the Robie House, but this model is much cheaper! It looks like it is going to be a lot of work, and I'm not sure why it is listed as a children's book as they would need a LOT of adult supervision to complete it. Someday I'll get the Lego one, but in the meantime, this looks like it will be a nice display piece once it is done. We adults need our toys, too!

This was definitely fun to work on but there were a lot of holes in the instructions. I had to do a lot of guessing which was frustrating at times.

great gift
I bought this as a gift for my partner who is a great admirer or Frank Lloyd Wright. It was a great gift however it is not for beginners. Good for a late saturday night with nothing to do and it looks pretty good for what it is. . . very happy.

Uh yeah, about those instructions...
Nice printing, quality material, reasonable price, prompt delivery. Additional work necessary on bringing the instructions up to snuff. It's as if James Joyce had taken a stab at it...

A fun build with great color and accuracy.
Accurate model helps understand the elements of F.L. Wrights Prairie Style work.

Difficult
The paper and print quality is outstanding, but the pieces are very small and intricate to cut out and glue.

A gift for Frank Lloyd Wright's admirers
Spectacular as Fallingwater may be, the Robie House was for me, as a young architecture student, the embodiment of the best that the Prairie Style could be in an urban setting (or in the prairie, for that matter, as in my view Robie house is more interesting than Taliesin). The house is open yet secretive, like a graceful fortress from where to let dreams come alive, and the pre-deco lines in the interior were a marvel of their own.If you like the Prairie style, Edmund Gillon painstakingly accurate model offers a good opportunity to "own" the house and look at it from every angle. The vivid red of the roof tiles is too reminiscent of suburban villas for comfort and it deprives the model of the magic patina that time (and in this case Chicago's grime) adds to architecture; a more sedated red would have taken care of this without disappointing those who prefer the-minute-after-the-scaffolding-comes-down look. My fingers would have favoured a pre-cut version but then pre-cut models have problems of their own. This is good opportunity to play at being first year architecture student all over again (without the late nights and the stress) or at playing architect if you ever dreamed of being one.

Cool book
If you a fan of Wright and you want a scale model of one of his designs, this is a great start. Card stock is thick.
