Danuu Deluxe Canoe Cover

I bought this cover to keep my canoe out of the sun, while sitting on a rack. It's a little big for my Canoe (Native Compass) and doesn't adjust as easy as described. The draw string is nearly impossible to pull and I'm really not sure of the purpose of the red flag (carry case) on the back. It seems like it would just create a lot of wind drag and get beat up. The side adjustments work good as do the straps that snap it closed.However, my main purpose for this is to keep the canoe out of the sun and it works great for that. I like that I still have access to the inside of the canoe so I can lock it, while it's sitting on the rack.

The cover fits my Bell Northstar canoe (16'6") just fine, is well made, and looks great. Unfortunately, I have to store my boat outdoors and this cover does a good job of protecting it from UV rays and grime. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because it is not waterproof. First big rain and I had some mildew on the inside. I did know that it wasn't waterproof in advance but it seems like no covers are.

Use this to cover a Hobie Tandem Island. For that it could be a little more generous, but it does the job, is well made, and costs a lot less.

Prompt and accurate

I bought this cover for my outrigger canoe, which I keep on the beach, open to the elements year round in the sub-tropical climate of Okinawa. I made some alterations to the cover to get it to fit properly, and it really worked well for about two years. But by then, the constant sun, wind, rain, sand and salt air got to the fabric and it became extremely fragile. At first I mended it, but it got so it tore so easily, I couldn't keep up with mending it. If you're looking for a cover to last 2 years while open to the elements, this cover does the job, but then, you better expect to be buying another one in two years. Still, custom canvas covers start at about 2.5~3 times what one of these costs, so perhaps it's not a bad deal. Yes, I'll buy another one for the next two years.
