The negative LCD display doesn't deliver a high degree of contrast between its black background and "bronze-ish/gray-ish" digits. Additionally, legibility can be considered challenging depending on the brightness and types of light sources it's subjected to when reading it.That being said, I personally don't find it bothersome. It is typically legible if you have the patience for it, understand its nature and enjoy the aesthetic. And, it possesses a LED light for those moments during inadequate lighting.I live in Philadelphia. The Multiband 6 updates nearly every night on my wrist while I'm asleep. I also fully charged the watch before I started wearing it daily and it's consistently maintained a "high" charge reading. I'd consider the overall sizing of the watch to be adequate for a person with small to medium sized wrists as myself. It's a solid piece from Casio that does what it's supposed to do within its design and function!

Screen is NOT "that hard" to read. See my review & feel at ease. Watch is great!
I decided to write this review in hopes of saving others all the time I spent researching online. In regard to all the reviews saying "the screen is hard to read", it seems more that some people simply are not used to looking at a negative display. It has what I would consider a standard negative display, very similar to that of my Casio G-Shock DW6900BB which I've owned for many years. It may be the slightest bit harder to read than my 6900, but I'm visually impaired with very thick prism glasses, & I have no issues whatsoever reading the screen in any kind of lighting- indoors, daylight, night-time, etc. Even though Casio may not cover the warranty in your country (because this is sold by a third-party seller on Amazon), you can opt to purchase an ASURION 2 Year Watch Protection Plan on Amazon for only $15.99. It covers most instances of accidental damage, & basically matches Casio's standard 2 year warranty. The option to purchase this ASURION warranty should automatically appear in your cart during checkout. No disrespect to those who like the GWM5610-1 model with the red, blue & gold colors on the face, but I find it to be a little too nerdy-looking for me, & I'm not a fan of the positive display. Sure, the positive display may be generally easier to read on the GWM5610-1, but the stealth black M5610U just looks so much nicer. I even prefer the brighter blue backlight display to the vintage green-colored el display. It's small, sleek, lightweight, fits under your sleeve without a problem, water resistant up to 200 meters, practically indestructible, & the battery can last for nearly a year on a single charge. I suggest looking up the CoolFire Solar Watch Fast Charger. People report owning Tough Solar G-Shocks that are still working perfectly after 10 to 15+ years. For everything from casual daily wear to extreme sports, construction workers & military, it's probably the last watch you'll ever need. If you're reading this, you've come here for a reason. If you're thinking about it....don't. Just buy it.

Blackout Classic. Perfect Updated Classic w/ Multiband6 and Tough Solar
Make sure you accept that traditional negative displays can be hard to read at an angle or without direct sunlight. I returned a Rangeman because it has smaller letters in some menus and is very hard to read in less than perfect light. New G-Shocks with MIP(memory in pixel) is the only negative display that can be read in low light. This model though looks good with the negative display as long as you accept the fact that you read it with the LT(light) on and at a direct front view. Some people don't like it so judge it for yourself. And you could be owning several G-Shocks. Have fun. It's a rabbit hole :D

Tough to read indoors
First of all, I was looking for a beater watch to wear when I wasn’t wearing my Omega Sea Master Planet Ocean. I had read other reviews and watched several YouTube videos regarding the negative display of the GWM5610U but thought those negatives would be outweighed by the solar charging and radio time keeping. However when comparing it to the GBD200, I was wrong. The MIP display is fantastic and the simple functions (alarms with vibrations) of the GBD200 made it the clear winner for me.

I must have G-Shock model
Very nice and light weight I known it is tough but to have solar and atomic is very cool in this watch style. I like the inverted dark watch face and this one looks stylish and does not really render viewing the screen much harder than a normal screen, maybe a little tougher with some viewing angles but it's worth the trade off the way it looks on the wrist this one is a must for G-Shock fans.
