Tefal Actifry Express XL Family 1.5Kg Frying Basket/Chip Tray Mesh Snacking Grid

Works as described in my tfal actifry. Am making egg rolls and chicken tenders with only 1 tsp of oil!

after having read a few reviews i took a gamble, One review said This did not fit the Genius XL!?I Can Confirm this product fits the model number AH960040 With the handle.Downside: For the RRP that is asked for its higher end XL models, It should of been included and not an optional extra, and the price of this item i feel is over priced, your paying for the brand name, I also feel this item is essential to the Airfryer as though it should of been with it, this feels like a company ploy to relieve you of more money, its a bit like a car manufacturer selling a car at RRP and then you have to buy the steering wheel as an optional extra but its really essential piece of equipment in the guise of an optional extra just to relieve you of more dosh!Feels Cheaply made.It cant be used with the Paddle attachment.GoodSide: It fits the Genius XL AH960040 contrary to some reviews (bitter for paying the extra?), Its comes with a crown attachment for other models and it turns as like with the paddle attachment.Handle fits in with the airfryer, no need to attach and re attach.

The description said this was for an Actifry XL which I have ( Actifry Express XL) and it doesn't fit or work on that machine.Once you put it together it doesn't fit the package for return. And despite this comment line above being up for sometime not a tweet from Amazon not the supplier about the misdescription.Sad

The item is exactly as described.A stainless steel mesh that inserts in to the centre of bowl when the paddle is removed. The stainless mesh to which food stuff can adhere to is easily cleaned in hot soapy water.I have tried cooking scampi and chips and after first allowing chips to cook for 8minutes with paddle in place, I then removed paddle and added the basket loaded with scampi. Started the cooking cycle and observed the basket rotating nicely whilst chips remained static in the bottom of the main bowl. Both food items cooked ok and results are very pleasing.The basket does have a height limit, hence the name for it being ’snack basket’ but it does serve a purpose as scampi is not damaged and evenly cooked with a nice crispy crunch. I’m getting hungry again just writing about this. Crispy onion rings should be a doddle from now on using this method to cook them.I would have liked the basket to be a little deeper but I guess those people at Tefal have their reasons for designing it the way it is.It does reduce the space in the bowl below, however, I reckon it is still capable of cooking four servings of scampi and chips at a time.I am starting to like this method of air fryer cooking as it is so much quicker and repeatedly produces really crispy, crunchy, tasty results every time.

There are two basket sizes that cover the Actifry range. However careful you are it seems because of the different numbers or lack of numbers on the packaging it is hit or miss which one you get. I was determined not to get caught out as so many others have but still got the wrong one and the lid would not close on it. Unfortunately in trying very carefully to remove the handle so that I could return the item a little lug broke off and I had to cancel the return (as returns have to be "pristine"). I have discovered that these baskets can be bought direct from Tefal but you have to search for the accessories store. The hamburger menu upper left of the Tefal website finds it. This may be the only foolproof way of getting the right thing. My guess is that the lack of clear definitive labelling confuses sellers equally.

Guys/ ladies the basket is so helpful. An added extra to the actifry. Opens new ways to simple, quick hot air cooking. I use my basket like a grill. Easy to attatch. Just remove the paddle and the basket will fit onto the centre isle. I decided not to fit the handle on my basket as several members have said the handle is too tall and stops the lid from shutting.
