KneadAce Shield for KitchenAid Dough Hook Mixer - Stops Dough Climbing

Completely worth the 20 dollars! Where has this been all my baking life. 😂 This little thing works like a dream. A few minutes in I thought it was a bust but as soon as that piece of dough started creeping over the plate it worked it right back down. This happened several times in my 15 minutes of kneading a double batch of fresh milled flour rolls. You can see where it does work its way between the hook and plate but there was nothing on the actual mixer. (Well nothing from today’s bake but apparently I missed some last time my dough crawled up the hook.) The plate was super easy to clean off. I can’t speak to durability yet but it seems like a good sturdy material and looks nice and sleek. Highly recommend!

I got this for my wife along with all kinds of mixer attachments, by far this little piece of plastic was her favorite thing in the world, it made cleanup super easy. She’s used it religiously for the past 2 years I got it for her in 2024. Literally 5 minutes ago she was mixing more bread dough and it exploded, it was always hand washed, needless to say it was torcher tested daily for 2 years, kept the dough from crawling up the hook and made the wife happy, so figured I’d give you guys a thumbs up prior to ordering another one, we’ll see you 2028!

I purchased this as a gift for my partner who often mixes dough for homemade bread in our hand-me-down Kitchenaid stand mixer. First things first, this part fits perfectly and is easy to snap in place! It is also super easy to clean in the dishwasher. Secondly, it DOES work. Rather than having to scrape climbing tendrils of dough off the mixer blade attachment every few seconds, it's much easier to simply poke down the larger globs of dough as they crest this shield. It keeps unsightly (if edible) mixer grease out of our dough and makes the kneading process a little more hands-off. However, this would absolutely benefit from being a little wider. It's like the designers stopped just short of a REALLY useful product! For the price, this is still a great stocking-stuffer gift for bakers in your life, but I would be eager to invest in a version 2.0 with a wider shield to make this even more helpful.

I’ve made dough in my Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer and the amount was too much to knead without the dough moving up to where the hook attaches to the machine. It makes a mess and you have to use your fingers to get all the dough off the machine. I was worried that it may clog the area where it’s inserted. Thank goodness for knockoff brands. This brand didn’t disappoint. The prices of Kitchen Aid accessories is way too high so I purchased the KneadAce dough shield it fit my mixer perfectly and does an excellent job of stopping the dough moving into the connection hole. Definitely worth $18.99 USD, now with a 20% off coupon. That’s $3.78 subtracted from $18.98, so $15.20 before tax. You can beat that price with a stick (or mixer). I highly recommend this product. It would be even better if the hook was made with a shield but mine is old, so the hook has no shield.

Does a great job from keeping the dough climbing up the hook. Excellent invention.

Until someone told me about it, it’s the mixer tool I didn’t know I needed. Dough climbing can be so frustrating. And I’m always so afraid of it getting inside my mixer. This thing has me covered. And it pops off to go in the dishwasher after.

this works very well for not allowing dough to move up the hook. I do think it is over priced for what it is. It cleans up well and seems strong so I expect it to last, just think it could be cheaper.
