Tefal FV2663 Ultraglide Anti-scale Steam Iron, 2500 W, Purple

This is a great iron - lightweight, the right amount of steam and very easy to use. Doesn’t dribble water at all.But the cable is a metre too short for practical use - I now have to use an extension lead to be able to iron.It’s over a metre shorter than the Tefal iron it replaces.

I think I've tried just about every make of iron - and to be honest, I've mostly been disappointed (sometimes very much so).So never having tried a Tefal, I thought I would try this one - and I wasn't expecting too much. So it was a lovely surprise when it did what it said.Once filled with water, it steams away the creases. As to the other reviews, yes - the water tank is rather dark but I have no problem seeing the 'max' level. And yes - it does get through the water rather quickly but that's only because the steam function is so good.It is relatively light, glides smoothly, is easy to fill and when on the steam setting, will steam until the tank is empty. There is also a trigger for an extra shot of steam if needs be.I can honestly say that this is the best iron I've ever used and will wholeheartedly recommend it, as to my mind it is excellent value for money.

Irons well and smoothly. Nice long flex. It's quite easy to catch the steam boost button under the handle by mistake, but you soon get used to avoiding it. As others have mentioned, it is difficult to see the water level because the tank is black. It does need refilling quite often, but that is because it provides a lot of steam. Some people have said that it spits or drips - I found that if you turn off the steam for the first couple of passes after refilling the tank, then it sorts itself out and you can turn on steam again.

This is a nice iron. I haven’t had it long enough to test the anti-scale feature. Depending where you can ‘do’ your ironing the power cord may be a bit short.

As with all irons and kettles these days you are lucky to get two years out them before they leak or stay on or fail, why this is when not that many years ago an iron lasted at least twice as long and kettles were rarely replaced I leave to your imagination.Even in hard water areas where we have lived these items lasted longer than now.We shall see if the anti scale device in this one is any better than the last, I have my doubts, but this is a good iron to use has a decent length flex and at the price should be a good buy, time will tell.
