Great Entry Robotic Vacuum from Hoover!
Hoover's BH70700 Quest 700 Bluetooth Enabled Robot Vacuum Cleaner for Carpet and Hard Floors is a member of Hoover's Fall 2016 new product release.Hoover is a special brand in the vacuum industry. Indeed, in the United Kingdom, vacuuming is referred to as "hoovering." They are a pioneer of the industry.Hoover's latest products aim to get them back as a premium brand in the space. Over the years, Hoover's products had been driven towards a race to be a more affordable option. While many of those options still exist, Hoover is now attempting to take on premiums brands such as Roomba and Dyson with some of its latest products. This robot vacuum clearly takes on iRobot's Roomba brand. I have owned a Roomba for nearly five years, therefore, I was excited to check out Hoover's offering. Many of the features on this Hoover compare beautifully to my similarly priced Roomba. Automatic docking station, virtual wall, fantastic side brush, and bumper are features that make the two units very similar and perform nicely. In addition, this Hoover includes a remote control and bluetooth, features I do not have on my Roomba. The battery run time of up to 90 minute is also vastly superior to my Roomba.Overall, operating the unit, I see similar performance to my Roomba, though the long battery runtime of this Hoover seems to make it more capable from the first use. I felt my Roomba always worked best on a super clean floor, the Hoover doesn't suffer as much if you have a corner or spot under some furniture that has been neglected a couple weeks. The Roomba would tend to get filled up or clogged up easier if you didn't start with a super clean room. Once the Roomba had been operating, automatically, several weeks, it was great. The bluetooth and remote are handy, though a scheduled vacuuming is ideal. Running the unit in the same room or rooms 2-3x per week keeps the carpet looking oh so fresh. There really is no match for regular multiple times per week vacuuming. That would be a chore with a heavy, large upright vacuum. However, with the Quest 700 from Hoover, the robot does the work for you, which makes the multiple times per week vacuuming that leaves your carpet so fluffy, comfortable, and clean, easy to achieve. That is my favorite feature of robot vacuums, unlike people who might keep putting off the chore, the robot won't. You truly see over the first couple weeks, your carpet gets nicer and nicer. A 15 minute upright cleaning just can't match multiple, robotic vacuum sessions throughout the week.My least favorite feature of these vacuums is cleaning out the bin, keeping the brushes clean, etc. It's a rather dirty job. That's why, again, it's best to start with a clean carpet and use these units for maintenance, that will keep down the maintenance you have to do on the robot!I would also caution they are best to use in rooms and a home without cables, shoes, or other objects in their way. Otherwise, the robots are going to drag these objects around your room. You want a rather clear room for the robot. Furniture is fine, it will gently bump into it and change direction, but movable objects or cables are not so great.Overall, Hoover has a very competent entry level machine with the Quest 700. I prefer it to my nearly five year old entry level Roomba. It's a great introduction to robotic vacuuming. Should my budget allow in the future, I would like to see if the features and performance of the higher end Hoover Quests might impress me even more. Still, this unit is a sweet spot. You get a lot of convenience and features at an affordable price.I certainly recommend this Hoover Quest 700. I am excited to have this in my home!

Great price for a useless robot you have to manually make vacuum
I bought this on Black Friday due to the discounted price and (at the time) good reviews. Now that I'm able to use it, it doesn't function at ALL. I have an open floor plan with a foyer, kitchen, dining room and living room. The first time I used it, it was so loud we couldn't hear the TV. I set it to go when we left the house. Came back and it hadn't done anything. It also won't even return to the dock so it was dead and I couldn't figure out the problem. Let it charge overnight, tried it again. It got stuck on my fireplace like five times. It only vacuumed one small section of the living room over and over. I had it set to rotate between all three settings. Had to let it charge again. Next time, it gave me a brush roll error every 30 seconds or so. If the tiniest piece of anything gets vacuumed up, or it gets some hair (human hair, not even pet hair.. so just the little bit of natural shedding from a woman's hair), it gives a brush roll error. Six or seven brush roll errors later, even when it had been cleaned and I verified there was NOTHING in or near the brush roll, it just wouldn't even try. Wouldn't return to the dock, either. Charged it again. Next time, it got stuck in the very open not even really a corner where the back door and couch meet. It just sat there. In the end, it hasn't vacuumed up anything at all and doesn't work. You can't run it when you're home because of how insanely loud it is, but if you run it while you're out it won't work because it gets stuck on absolutely everything and gives an error every 30 seconds where you have to manually fix it. Very, very disappointed.Note: Open floor plan, most of it is flat tile, the only obstructions would be walls, the dining room table and chair (which isn't even where it got stuck) and a couch. No pets or pet hair.

We like it, but
We like it, but, it seems to get stuck quite often. We really do not want to have to follow it around to keep getting it unstuck.

Decent job cleaning on hard surfaces, but gets hung up on quarter round molding. Got hung up twice in two minutes. Dirt reservoir is a pain to remove and clean. After 5 minutes, boxed it up and returned for refund.

Can't live without this!!
I absolute love this, I don't even know how I managed without it. Living near the beach it's so easy to track sand into the house everyday. I am constantly sweeping the floors 1-2 times a day. Having this run at night in the main area of the house has be amazing. It picks up sand!!! It's quiet so don't hear it when sleeping. It only gets caught on the new area rug but once the rug flattened a bit I had no issues.

I liked it a lot however it became more work for me because I spent all my time getting it unstuck from chairs, under the Davenport, etc; In all fairness it did very well when it wasn't stuck on furniture.

Does not perform well. Broke after three weeks.
I purchased this unit based on some relatively positive reviews. Unfortunately it does not do well near stairs or furniture. In a room that was nearly empty it kept getting continuously stuck. After three weeks it quit charging and no longer works. I will try to call customer service and see what happens. My previous robot made by Kärcher (RC3000) lasted ten years and was awesome so I was hoping to get a replacement as that manufacturer no longer makes that unit. The few weeks it did work, away from stairs, it did seems to work ok. I don’t d not trust the sensors so I had it drive towards the stairs to see if it would drive over the ledge. After I caught it rolling over the edge I no longer allowed it to get near stairs.I won’t say don’t buy it but in my case the experience was very poor.
