CompTIA Network+ N10-008 Exam Cram

I took the Mike Meyers training course and this book to test my knowledge. The book is very good because each chapter teaches what you need to know then you get tested at the end of the chapter. If you buy the extra practice questions using the discount on the book, which I did, is even better value. I passed the CompTIA Network+ exam. I am glad I used this book and its resources to do it.

Great supplement to learn the material

this book goes into great depth on all things networking. phenomenal studying tool. goes great with Professor Messers series of videos on the Network+ on YouTube. Taking my test in two days, will update this review then.

The book is pretty good,but emphasizes some really out of date technology. I've been working in the field for over 6 years now, and some of the stuff they talk about was out of date before I even started. There is other stuff they think you need to know that is just completely unrealistic, not the way anyone actually does things, or that doesnt actually happen anywhere in the industry. Classful addressing is an example of this. Noone does this anymore and CIDR (invented in 1993, 30 years ago) is basically what killed it. Memorizing Class A Class B Class C delegation schemes, has 0 value in the modern world. I've got a CCNA, but it's too expensive to keep renewing and I know cisco gear inside and out, but still wanted to have a networking cert so here is the Network+. I am so experienced in the field that the flaws in the material are very obvious. This is an obvious step down in quality from the CCNA exams and test prep materialsThe practice exams from pearson contain a lot of wrong info, badly designed questions, and frivolous vocab, mostly related to cloud services marketing terms.

If you are in a limited time frame, this can help you have just enough to pass. For sub-netting, find videos of it such as Professor Messer on Youtube (which is free) and used the practice exam software including the flashcards. It also comes with a leaflet summarizing every domain before you take the exam.I passed the exam and so can you!

I got this book a few days before I did the exam I found it excellent. It is an ideal revision book. It is very concise and to the point and points out the important things that you need for the exam. You also have good exam questions included. I would highly recommend it. I got 92% in my exam which was great!
