This bag is a true head-turner! I get compliments from coworkers and complete strangers anytime I carry it for travel. The quality stands out from simply holding it. The beauty and leatherwork are top notch. It fits perfectly under airline seats or the overhead. The capacity fits all that's needed, including a pair of shoes, for a 1-3-night stay.I own several very high-end pieces of luggage...frankly much more expensive than this bag...and THIS is my favorite piece. I put it up again bags four times the price and this one looks, feels, functions and works better than any.After reading other reviews before purchasing, I can tell you these facts: The leather and color are excellent, with no rub-off from dye. Take care f it as you would any leather-good, and you'll be happy. The handles are strong and substantial, while comfortable. Same for the shoulder strap. Some reviews mentioned a strong smell when new. I only smelled what was lovely, new leather. If you're highly sensitive to smells, the care instructions suggest letting it sit open a day or so...but with a new, genuine leather product, you'd want to smell the leather (if you don't, you probably would not have gotten very good leather).The metal sipper, strap clasps as well as the interior are extremely well-made, with strong durability. The interior lining is thankfully real fabric and well-tailored.Customer service is superb, too! When I asked about a clasp spring catching on my shoulder strap, the reply through Amazon feedback was quick simple. They simply asked, "Would you be happy if we send you a new one?" They rushed it to me!I don't write many reviews, but after receiving this bag, and after using it several months now, I felt compelled to share my views about a superb piece of luggage. You'll feel and look like the most savvy traveler no matter where you are!If I could give 100 stars, I would. Total home run with this piece of luggage!!

Just got the bag today and WOW is all I can say. It came in a large white rectangular box, which I didn't expect because of how flat the box was. Upon opening the box, I see they packed it to save space and shipping costs but this did not affect the quality of the bag at all. The bags color is a rich "expensive/elegant" looking high quality brown leather and you can tell it's built very sturdy. First thing I did was put a few blankets in it to stretch it into proper form(you may not want to do this if you fear that whatever you put in it will have a bit of new leather smell). It now sits very nicely and the interior detailing is great also. Only has 1 side pocket on the Inside(kind of wished it had one on the outside but that would take away from it's beautiful exterior form factor so I see why they didn't add one).One might notice that the bags strap starts on one side of the main zipper and ends on the other side of the zipper(some people wouldn't notice this but me being slightly OCD, I noticed this right away lol). This means the bag is meant to be worn with the strap on your Left side. When worn this way, the bag stays nice and straight(parallel to your walking plane moving forward) and not flipping in front of you or behind as you step. Nice bit of thought in that which makes it even more functional.The only "cons", which really aren't bad at all but I at least wanted to mentioned them for you others out there who have a slight propensity to be OCD like me - This bag had Light staining remnants(dark dots about the size of an eraser head) were visible upon inspection. This may not be on all bags, just the one I received. Also noticed a small scratch on the bag(which I didn't mind as it gives the bag character and it's going to Eventually have scratches anyways). Also wished the zipper didn't go all the way down to the ground but maybe 1 inch from the bottom.. the reason is, when you fully zip down both sides to open the bag Wide, you really have to hold the bag tight/closed to get the zippers moving back up to zip. I can see this being an issue if I ever decide to REALLY stuff it to the brim. Minor drawback which really is negligible when looking at the bag as a whole. Just another tidbit for you discerning readers out there.Also worth mentioning, I received a strap that's different than the one shown(only slightly different but this one is nice also. Clasp were a tad different and the canvas underlining shown in the picture is not there.)Really can't go wrong with this bag. I am heading to Japan and Thailand in 7 days and plan to use this as my carry on. Look forward to breaking her in nicely all over the world!*** 1/13/2014 Update - I leave to Japan and Thailand is about 16 hours! Customer service is great as well may I add. I was shipped a slightly different strap(newer one) but I liked the look of the old one just a tad more so they rapidly shipped me the older one and told me to keep the other for a spare. Just made this buy even better!

I knew it was time to graduate from a backpack yet couldn't visualize what would take it's place, holding my laptop as well as serving as a carry on bag that I'd be happy to lug around the world. I came across this and wasn't sure about the price so it spent the better part of a year in my shopping cart while I looked for something similar in person. Nothing came close at this price and what had seemed a little high now looked like a bargain. I don't now why I waited so long. I love this bag. The leather has an excellent hand to it and everything about the construction says quality (OK, the zipper, as some people have pointed out, is a little cheap looking but you do not see that unless you're really looking to find fault. I've only taken it on a few trips but the size is perfect for overhead bins and the shoulder strap allows me to use it as a personal item, not carry on bag, so there's actually more room than I had before. The lining adds to the stylish but not trendy effect and I look forward to many years of enjoyment.Update October 2020: Still love it but honestly one thing has bothered me- the zipper was pretty cheap looking. I've never had a problem with it but still. Now I see they're making it with a brass zipper and I feel conflicted- a little ripped off since the price is the same as I paid but the product is decidedly better now. That means that you should buy it and I'll think about taking it to a tailor to get the zipper swapped out for a metal one. It's that good a bag.

I purchased this bag as a gift for my 20-something son on his birthday. The best gifts are always items that are 'nice-to-have' and not 'must-have'. This unexpected gift was well received. For air travel, the typical rolling carry-ons are fine, but for weekend car excursions, duffles or non-roller bags are more suitable. This bag met all expectations for traveling in style, as well as function. The leather is high quality; the construction is durable and good looking, and the capacity is great for a long weekend. Leather bags can be heavy, but this one is a good weight; fully packed is not too heavy. One note: the strong smell upon unpacking was evident, but after airing it out for one week, it was fine. In conclusion, this made the perfect gift - stylish, practical, and really nice to have.

I received my bag via UPS yesterday. Initially I thought that the box looked small and I was concerned that he leather would be creased when I opened it. I need not have worried. My bag was encased in plastic and lay neatly in the box. Once removed the bad itself was perfect. The leather is soft and looks exactly as displayed in the pictures. There is a strong leather smell initially but that soon faded to a faint pleasant scent. The bag itself is wonderfully put together and feels robust enough to take the punishment of constant travel. There is not a stitch out of place. Some people have complained about the leather being too shiny but I have no such complaints. Over time the shine will mellow to a warm matt finish. The interior is stylish and equally well appointed as the exterior. As to size, this bag easily has capacity to carry enough changes of clothes for a long weekend while being small enough to meet Carry-On limits. I couldn't be happier.
