Amazing fix for painted warped paneling on old home.
I rarely LOVE products like this, but wow!!! I just used the whole roll to fix what I thought was unfixable. Rather than replace walls for big bucks, I just painted over warped, cracked & badly aged paneling from the early ’70s. I thought it would give a brightness to the rooms, which it did, but it also highlighted every bubble, crack, seam, warp, etc. with the shadows now visible against the white. This stress-crack tape is very close to the eggshell white paint I used, & I may not even have to paint over it (will know better in the light of day). I'm buying another roll immediately for a couple more touch-ups & to keep it on hand for the future.Oh - & it works great on the textured ceiling where there were cracks, & other issues including watermarks from past roof issues. If you have cracks, warpage, uneven seams, bubbles - BUY THIS. (No I was not coerced to write this - just love it enough to want the price to go down - the more who buy it, the better!)I would include pics, but I have no before pictures to show the dramatic difference. My only pic here shows two seams near each other, & it's obvious which is not yet taped with the StepSaver tape. The fixed crack was much more severe than the unfixed one, but it's completely smooth & ready for paint now.BTW - NO TOOLS NEEDED. You can just tear it with your fingers like duct tape (easier) & blend it into the surface on the edges with your fingernails. No need for measuring or using scissors or razor knife. Easy peazy.

Cracks are Gone
I would recommend this product. Works great but does need to be coated. I was repainting ceilings and walls and there were many cracks. The tape was apparent when primed so they still needed to have a coat of spackle/plaster over the tape and then sanded and primed. Then when painted you could not see the tape. The areas may still fluctuate and crack but with the tape on them they are no longer visible in the walls or ceilings. I gave it 4 stars because it is not a tape it on and just paint over it product but then none of them are.

Nothing Short of Magic - Amazing and Fantastic Stuff
This stress crack is amazing! I had 2 cracks running the length of my living room ceiling in my lovely old colonial after our county decided to do some mountain blasting for a new highway. They would be repaired only to reappear during our cold winters. We found this product on line, watched an educational video on it, and decided to give it a try before investing in sheet rocking the ceiling. Lo and behold it's remarkable, working wonderfully, holding up thru the worst winters, the cracks totally gone. Initially our painter, like us, was somewhat skeptical that a tape would work and hold up. Initially he used the Stress Crack Tape on a wall crack with much success and then proceeded on the ceiling. To say the least he was amazed and pleased! The procedure was easy and the ceiling came out perfect. It has continued to look beautiful saving us the mess and cost of sheet rocking the ceiling. The Stress Crack Tape has now become my painter's new tool, it's easy to use, quick to do, and best of all a cost efficient fix! The Stress Crack Tape is an excellent product!

Good results.
I have tried to fix this crack that ran the length of the ceiling in our bedroom several times. I tried the traditional scratch out and spackle repair, that spray on stuff but the crack always came back. I admit I was skeptical about this tape product but I am pleased and impressed with the immediate results. You can make out the tape under the fresh coat of paint in the after photo but you really do not notice it unless you stare directly right up at it. You always noticed the crack however. It went on relatively easily. I recommend having a utility knife at hand to help with separating the tape backing. I don't know if I was really necessary but i used a wallpaper seam roller to make sure the tape was well adhered to the ceiling. I did spackle the edges. I am not the best spackler so that's probably why the tape is a bit noticeable. I have high hopes that it holds up well.

Huge waste of time and a lot of money
After carefully applying the tape to all the stress cracks in my home as directed, we began the next step, painting. It looks worse than before. Now it just looks exactly what it is - painted over tape. Reviewed directions again, learned nothing new. We tried all possible remedies we could find but it still looked awful.I wasted around $100 on tape that I just had to toss into the trash. Besides the messy outcome, trying to remove the tape from the backing was time consuming and very frustrating. In the end, we cleaned the mess, bought more paint and hired a professional.

Works but noticeable
As you can see from my photos, the corner of the wall was slightly damaged. I put the tape on it per the instructions and then painted it again per the instructions and it works right, but it is far more noticeable than I had expected based on the descriptions of the product. Overall satisfied with the after versus the before, but slightly disappointed in the fact that I could see the corner was taped. The product is definitely easy to use, the thickness and texture is accurate as described. Just didn’t blend as well as I had expected it to.

Easy to camouflage g
Easy fix on cracks in my old house. I ordered a 2nd roll. You can faintly see the edges but once painted not too noticable.

Easy patch tape but visible up close
I used this in a couple of ways to experiment. I put this up on the wall to fix a damaged corner bead, and then used it to patch holes made with wall anchors. (I am not a great spackler at all and feel like I just can never get it right). I finally got around to painting them yesterday.Pros: they hold paint. They have kind of a little texture to them. They don't peel. From far away they are invisible.Cons: Obviously you can see all of the edges up close and yes I could have spackled the edges but I would have been brought right back to the reason why I bought this tape in the first place, so I didn't have to spackle.I think for the corner bead especially, this is super smart. I slapped this up there months ago and even tho it wasn't painted, it didn't peel off and it didn't get any holes in it from continued abuse. Just for that i'll give an extra star.
