Great little Cam!
Great little camera. Easy to use. Simply plug in and you're off. Resolution is excellant and it has really good magnification properties. It has no internal storage, but who needs it. You can record with software on your computer. It seems to work better with some software as opposed to others. You can download presentation software from their website. It's really easy to use and does a lot, but I had trouble sincing the audio with the video. It could just be my computer. Anyway, I'm using a free copy of Cyberlink Ucam and it's working great! Great resolution and does a lot for the money... Great buy...

great little camera
Although this camera is essentially a webcam, I bought it to use as a document camera at school based on the recommendations I read on Amazon. I needed a document camera to use to project lessons on the whiteboard at school and have had to share the school's document camera and projector with the other teachers on my team so I didn't always have access to it when I needed it. I had researched the cost of a document camera and projector and found the cost to be prohibitive until I saw this one. It was less than $70 so it fit my budget perfectly. The only problem that I had was that the laptop the school had provided was an older mac and it didn't have OS 5 on it so I wasn't able to use it. I have since been given a newer laptop with a compatible operating system. The camera works perfectly. I did read some reviews that complained there wasn't enough light to see the object they wanted to project but I have not had any problem at all with that. I also saw reviews that mentioned that you can't see the entire page unless you put the camera on something. I use a wooden block from my classroom but I found that I actually like having the ability to just focus on one part of the page at a time when I am showing my students the worksheet. I purchased this camera with the ViewSonic PJD5123 SVGA DLP Projector and the combined price was under $400 which is much better than the price my school pays for an ELMO document camera and projector. If you are in need of a document camera and projector but don't want to spend a fortune, you can't go wrong with these two. I've only been using them for 2 weeks but so far they have done the job I needed them to do. Just make sure you have OS 5 or above if you plan to use the IPEVO Point 2 View with a Mac since the camera must be connected to the computer in order to work.

Just what I was looking for.
I'm a teacher and had been needing to use a document camera for one of my lessons. Problem was that my school only had one and it was being used, so I was just checking prices when I saw this and decided to give it a shot.Good:Easy to useLightweightPrice!!!Works great as a doc cameraSettings such as saturation, zoom, and mirror work great. Not so good:No light, my classroom lighting gives it bluish hue. It also took a few minutes before I could see the text why was trying to show, not because of focus, but the paper seemed too bright. After a few minutes that went away though. I think I'm going to tape a small LED flashlight to the base and see if that helps, especially when lights are off.Lightweight...I know I said it's a good, but I was typing on my desk and my typing was causing it to sway and bounce on the picture and I believe the lightweightedness of the machine caused this to happen.Has to be used through a computer. No direct to projector which isn't a huge problem, but that means my computer is tied up during the lesson.Overall I'd buy it again and am recommending it to anyone who'd like to have an ELMO but thinks they are ridiculously priced.

I have recommended this camera to several of my colleagues.
I am an elementary teacher and use this product in my classroom. Before I purchased it, I compared it to several others on Amazon. I found that it had a good image quality and price point to fit my needs. I have had it for several months and would feel lost without it. We use it multiple times throughout the day. It is super simple for me to display a worksheet we are doing as a class, model with manipulatives, display something from a smaller screen, or display my students' work.It was easy as can be to install - just plug it into a USB port and the software installs automatically. The software is easy for anyone to use...even my 2nd graders navigate it with ease. There are functions to record your display, which would be easy to create videos of lessons for absent students or to share with parents. It's easy to zoom in and out and even take a still image (there's even button on actual camera).I especially like the stand on this camera. It stays in place well even if someone bumps the desk it sits on (which happens often...7-year-olds are clumsy), it will barely move. If it does move, it entire thing slides (less than 1/2 an inch). My colleague's camera has a flexible stand and she hates that it's constantly getting bumped and nudged - it's hard to find the "sweet spot" on hers. Even after owning it for almost a year now, it doesn't feel 'loose' - the quality has maintained well.
