Disney/Pixar's Monsters Inc. Scare Island - PC

I bought this game out of sheer nostalgia. The nerves are a little more annoying then I remember them being, but the rest of the game is great. I was able to get this running on Windows 10. Here's how.After putting in the CD, navigate to This PC (ever before known as My Computer) and right click on the CD/DVD Drive. Select Open. Right click on Setup, click the compatibility tab, select Run in Compatibility Mode and choose Windows 98/Windows ME. I could NOT get this running in XP mode. Also select Run as Administrator.Click Apply and then OK. Double click on Setup and proceed with the install. When it asks you to approve the installation of the Sound software (I can't remember the name sorry, Iagos?) click CANCEL! I was not able to install it as it's too old and it would screw up the install. As soon as you click cancel, a cheerful little box should pop-up confirming your install. Navigate to where you installed the game, default is: Program Files/ Disney Interactive (not Program Files(x86)!. The .exe file you need is in the BIN folder. Right click on it, Select Run in Compatibility Mode and choose Windows XP Service Pack 2 (I have no clue why it works here and not on the other one). Select Run as Administrator, Apply, and then OK. Double click on the .exe and enjoy your game :)

Doesn't work on any computer in house and we have 6!

Awesome game, unfortunately only worth about a day's worth of game play. And that's with several breaks, and finding all collectibles. Graphics are much worse than I remembered, but it makes it cuter and doesn't effect gameplay. Also, THIS GAME WILL NOT RUN ON WINDOWS VISTA OR WINDOWS 7. It is not computer specific, rather it WILL NOT run on these systems under normal circumstances. It is possible with the use of emulators, but these are difficult to navigate and use for computer novices. My recommendation, drag out the old ME or XP hanging around in the garage and crank it up.

This game is probably the most addicting game I've ever played in my childhood years. I first got this game as a kid for the first PlayStation. My cousin came over my house one day and he gave me his original PS1 and had a few games of his I could play with. I played the crap outta this game as a kid until it got worn out (if video games can even get worn out) and finally now, I can play this on my PC and live my nostalgia yet again! I was browsing on amazon over the summer when I saw that this game was on sale, BRAND NEW & SEALED PACKAGING for just $1.50! And when I saw that, I thought to myself that "this is such a steal." When I was a kid, I never knew how to play it because I was new to the game and all I wanted to do was destroy the nerves and nothing else. I played this game the other day, and it feels like the game wanted me back. The game felt like it was welcoming me back to its pastime. I'm so proud to have this game yet again and look forward yet again to playing the hell crap it.
